Owner description: The signal from the steeple of Boston's oldest church triggered the War for Independence that led to the birth of America. On that fateful night in 1775, the two lanterns in the steeple told Paul Revere that the British were approaching by boat, not on foot.

“Plan to sit and listen to the 10 minute narrative”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2013

So interesting and our speaker did a great job of explaining the historical significance and also several fun/little known facts. Very cool to get to sit in the actual "box pews." Admission is free, but they ask for a donation; which I think is a great way to do it. A must stop on the freedom trail.

“Wonderful piece of American history.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2013 via mobile

Hard to imagine sitting in those pews for long Sunday services with the entire family. Church appears to be in great condition and a real piece of Revolutionary War history - worth the visit.

“Interior Worth a Visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2013

An interesting event in U.S. history happened here- but unfortunately the wooden spire where it happened has had to be rebuilt- but the interior "pew booths" of the church are also quite interesting.

“Wonderful, old historical church”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2013

Love visiting Old North Church - my kids love seeing something in person that they've learned about. Wish we could see the bell tower without having to pay extra for a special tour. Going inside church is free, but they ask for a $1 donation.

“Great learning experience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2013

This is the church where they hung the lanterns-one if by land, two if by sea. Very cool and the historians are wonderful narrators. On the freedom trail.
