“A fantastic experience!! No 1 attraction for kids in Boston!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 5, 2013

The most enjoyable journey in the ferry from the harbour takes you to the USS Constitution. The USS Constitution museum is a short walk from the pier. Its a beautiful ship, superbly maintained by the US Marines. The museum is very informative and my 10 year old spent more than an hour going through the exhibits. Once we finished seeing the museum, we moved to an outdoor seating area, where tours were being conducted in batches. The ship is a beauty! The history of the USS Constitution is beautifully narrated in the tour. There were lots of kids, hanging on to every word being spoken and reliving the history of the ship in their minds! To my pleasant surprise, there was no fee for this attraction! It is not necessary to visit this through an organised tour, the commute from the main harbour is cheap and very easy. For my son this was the number one attraction in Boston and I couldn't agree more!! :)

“A great piece of living history”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 5, 2013

The USS Constitution is the oldest commissioned warship afloat, anywhere in the world. Manned by active duty Navy personnel, it still sails from time to time, but is mostly available for tourists to see how a real ship battled and lived in 1797 and beyond. A great experience for young and old, but if you're mobility impaired, do the self-guided tour of the upper deck. A few landlubbers had a bit of difficulty with the steep ladders leading below to hear the tour guide.

“The One and Only!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 3, 2013

The UCC Constitution is a must see for anyone visiting Boston. As the oldest commissioned Naval boat afloat, Old Ironsides is a unique ship. The tour, given by the United States Navy, gives a first hand look at what life was like in the days of sail. The museum is also worth seeing. If you enjoy the history of sail, the USS Constitution is the perfect experience for you.

“Must see if you're into American history...if your not you should be!”

This is an amazing national treasure. Just being aboard gives you a feeling of the naval challenges in that time period.

“More than a ship--history. Plan to visit more than the ship.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 2, 2013

The USS Constellation is history itself and you should read all about it before or after you get on the ship. Get the tour that allows you to go below deck rather than just the topside. The wait can be long if you show up midday. The Navy takes up to 80 people per tour on the ship. If you are going for just the ship your are doing yourself a disservice. Visit the museum AND the visitor center. There is an old destroyer on piers that is also interesting to see. The museum is interactive and just plain fascinating and you will learn more about the Constellation and get a very different perspective on what the Old Ironsides is all about.
