“Beauty in Marble”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2013

I was visiting Boston for just 2 days and both were days of rain. So, as I walked past the memorial for the Marathon runners and went beyond the Prudential mall building ,I very badly needed to take shelter .There was this magnificent building which stood right there.Entered with no interest in a library, but wanting shelter.Once I climbed up the steps from the road, one look into this building floored me.Amazing marble pillars, marble lion figurines, beautiful ceiling with inlaywork, broad marble windowsills and side parapets. As if in a trance, I started walking uo the steps inside the building also.No one will be disappointed .It is a treat to eyes and soul.I spent an hour inside and enjoyed thoroughly.I wish I had more time to spare.Do not miss it ,if you ever go to Boston. It is right in the middle and no effort is required to reach teh place

What an amazing building - wish every city had a library like this! Beautiful architecture, with a cute little courtyard in the centre.

“Hidden gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2013

This library is a hidden gem. Take the time to stop in and see this building. We looked around for only about 10 minutes but it was worth it. Wow!

“don't just walk by and miss seeing the inside...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2013

Confirming what others have said, this Library is well worth the visit to see its architecture and treasures inside. We took the free tour given by a volunteer who shared her passion and knowledge about the building - strongly recommend for maximum enjoyment & enlightenment. And it offers a nice quiet place to escape the throngs of other tourists and to rest the mind and feet.
