We had a great time on our Duck tour. Our tour guide Punchy was informative and fun. I was worried that the tour would be too hokey, but it wasn't --even residents and other tourists would quack as we drove by. All the children on board got the chance to pilot the duck while in the Charles river.

A couple of tips-

We took the last tour of the day so the river portion was nice and cool and the driver was not in a hurry to get back and get the next group on. Traffic was not bad either.

We used the Go Boston card for our duck tours. It was a breeze and it saved us money.

Me a few of my friends had to do a report on a significant boat and we had to visit it so we had never been on a duck so we tried it.... even though it was a little expensive it was worth it we had a blast even though we went in the cool month of april, our conducktor was dressed as a viking and he called him self sven. we learned alot about boston in just 2 hours as well a learning some about the boat which was extremely helpful for our project so if your ever in boston go on the dark purple duck and have fun touring boston on boat and bus!!! :)

Even while the rain was coming down on us and our duck I had a blast! My husband and I really enjoyed our duck tour. We had a wonderful tour guide. It sells out fast so buy online or get in line early at the Science Museum or Prudential Center ticket locations. It cost about $25, yes that is a bit high but I am really glad we did it.

Whilst in Boston in October we went on one of the famous Boston Duck Tours and it was the best fun! Our driver was a 'Viking' called Sven and his informative talk peppered with jokes, one-liners and Tigger like exclamations had us in fits of laughter - just what you are looking for on holiday. The tour itself covered all the famous parts of Boston and gave us a great overview of the city whilst having the opportunity to travel in a unique way. I would definitely recommend this tour and would do it again just for the fun of it!

“Was very disappointed”

We've been to Boston many times and have seen many sights, but we'd never done the Duck Tour so we thought we would give it a try. I feel that it was not worth the very large amount of money for several reasons.

First, the route seems to be very limited, considering how much there is to see in the greater Boston area. For the money we spent, I was expecting relevant history lessons about the area as well as all of the major Boston points of interest. Instead we got stuck in traffic for what seemed like an eternity as a result of the Pumpkin Festival on Boston Common, and a driver who, while witty, could have used the time in traffic to give the tourists a fabulous history lesson but instead just kind of complained about the traffic, construction and some of the architecture of the newer buildings.

The ride in the Charles River was probably the highlight, but still not impressive as we had to go to a distressed area of town just to enter the boat ramp, and then there wasn't much to see of historical interest on the water either.

In comparison, we've taken the Duck Tour in Hyannis and it was MUCH better. I would strongly recommend that you save your money and take the Trolley Tour instead.
