“can't miss this”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 11, 2005

When it comes down to it, every major city in the US seems to have the same old attractions (shopping, viewing tower, etc), but Boston stands out in that it is the home of the freedom trail. Follow the red (not yellow) brick road and you have yourself a self-guided tour of the freedom trail. Don't bother paying for a guided tour, because this way you can stop along any of the attractions anytime you want. And you really cannot get lost, since the red brick trail is clearly marked all along the way. Don't miss the Whale watch (also along the trail, at the New England Aquarium) - a must see, if you haven't been on any other!

“Simply a Must-Do”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2004

The Freedom Trail is an absolute must-do in Boston. My wife and I recently went on a guided walking tour. Tickets were $12 for adults and were available in the information center at Boston Common. Our costumed tour guide took us on a 90 minute journey back through time. "James Ottis" (our tour-guide) did an absolutely amazing job. Plenty of photo opps at every stop along the way. By the way my wife and I are 23 and 24 years old, resptively. We had a great time!

“Freedom Trail a "must" while in Boston”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2004

I agree with a previous reviewer that a costumed guide from the Freedom Trail foundation is the way to "do" the trail. Not only will you learn more about each site on the trail, you will avoid spending most of your time getting lost!

“Freedom Trail Guide a Highlight”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2003

If you are visiting the Freedom Trail with children, absolutely hire a guide from the Freedom Trail foundation. Our children, ages 5, 10 and 13 were fully engaged by our costumed guide, James Otis - a revolutionary war hero. We would have had a difficult time engaging the kids for two hours but, our guide had them spellbound. A highlight of our trip and worth every penny. This tour is a key reason to bring children to Boston - do it right!
