“Asheville, NC”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2010

Exciting Asheville and surrounding area. Many activities for adults and kids to explore. We visited during the summer and enjoyed the sights and sounds immensly.

If you go, you must watch the Drum Circle on Friday nights and hit the great restaurants and bars...a must...Barley's Taproom and Pizzeria. If possible, go in July for the Bele Chere Festival for great food, music, and people watching.

Many side trips are available into the Appalacian Mts. and if you've never tried water water rafting, try it. Many trips leaving from Hot Springs (many companies to choose from).

“A Long Weekend in Asheville, NC”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2010

Treated my parents & my dog to a long weekend in Asheville, NC. I already knew what to expect as far as the sites & attractions are concerned, but I was genuinely surprised at how pet friendly the place is.

My dog was always welcomed just about everywhere! She got bowls of water at Carmel's restaurant & at Chimney Rock Park.

We also spent the day at the Biltmore Estate & my dog got to roam the gardens. Every single employee at the Estate was very nice to us & gave a lot of attention to our little Pekingese.

“Nice city and great travel experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2010

Asheville is a very nice city, which has many unique stores to visit during night. Biltmore Estate is also very near, which is definitely the place that you don't want to miss visiting, the American's biggest house!

“Awesome Canopy Tour!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2010

Navitat is an amazing course...beautiful views in a beautiful setting. The guides are friendly and knowledgeable about the ecology and natural history of the region. I appreciated how well the course was constructed, with close attention to not harming the forest while allowing us to experience the woods in an amazing way. This is a must do for a visit to WNC.

“Weekend Getaway to Asheville - Beautiful!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2010

We had a wonderful Labor Day weekend getaway in Asheville. The area is absolutely beautiful, with breathtaking mountain views abounding just about everywhere. The town of Asheville itself is really nice - not too big, but small and quaint enough for a great visit. We spent two of our days downtown and still didn't get to see everything. Lots of small, artistic shops everywhere, with local artisans displaying their beautiful creations, people sitting on the sidewalks playing guitars and singing songs to the crowds passing by, street performers showing off their talents. Be sure to stop by Kilwin's for some awesome fudge (and ice cream too). It's such an interesting place, especially for those who are into the arts and free expression.

We chose to stay just outside of Asheville in the town of Leicester, which was just a few minutes away. We rented the Newfound Farmhouse out off of Newfound Road, and it was absolutely the right choice for us to make an awesome weekend. The Farmhouse is so reasonably priced for what you get in space, surrounding peacefulness and view. We spent every morning of our trip on the front porch of the farmhouse, enjoying the fresh, cool mountain breeze and looking at the gorgeous mountain view right there at our feet. There are so many vacation rental possibilities to muddle through when visiting this area, and I'm so, so glad we found this one on VRBO.com to spend our vacation to Asheville in. Between the amazing mountain views, the ultra-comfortable beds and the private hot tub at our disposal, we found leaving at the close of our weekend a very hard thing to do. It was the perfect getaway from our busy, busy city lives, and the peacefulness it offers is incomparable. Please consider this place for your next trip to Asheville - you will not regret it.

We absolutely loved our getaway weekend to Asheville, and we look forward to going back again real soon!
