My two foot parents told me to get the car, I was so excited we werer going on a ride. I was hoping this adventure would not take me to that vet place they tell me is good for me, but after 7 hours (1 hour for you two foots) in the car we started going up a hill on a curvy road. After about another 7 hours (once agian 1 hour for you two foots) we arrived at this beautiful house. My parents told me to wait in the carr why they went in, later I found out that there was a cat inside which I would have loved to have chased. My parents came out and got me out of the car and let me to this wonderful room, where there were treats waiting on me with my name printed right on them. After I nibbled on my treats I walked around the room, it smelt so clean and fresh. The bed was big with nice covers and pillows. I sat with my dad in a leather chair where we watched movies and ate more treats. My daddy even shared some of his treats with me. Every morning a two foot would bring us breakfast right to the door, and I would not even have to get out of the bed. Now that I am home I have to go all the way down the stairs to my bowl. My parents ate there food and I ate my treats that the two foot had brought. I even had my own fenced in area where I could mark my territory as I wish without being on that string thing you all call a leash. My trip was great, we stayed 21 days (3 days in two foot time). Thank you Lynn and Ron, and maybe next time you will let me chase Allie Cat.

I must go my two foots are coming and I do not want them to know I can type because then I will have to learn other tricks.

I just spent a lovely Christmas night and night after at the Inn, a gift from a close friend. Ron and Lynn are lovely hosts, and they can provide spot on restaurant reviews. They may even join you. Breakfast was unique and varied with a wonderful array of tastes. Allie is the hit of the house and loves to check the rooms out. Speaking of the room, it was spacious, the bed was firm but luxuriously soft. The bathroom was spotless and large. A wonderful place to recharge and within walking distance of galleries, the Basilica and the tourist office. Thanks, Lisa for getting me in at the Inn

Knowing that my wife is particular about the places we stay away from home, we made the decision to visit the Inn prior to our wedding day and honeymoon. Upon our first arrival we were warmly greeted and were welcomed to look around the home and grounds. It just so happened a native Asheville artist was staying in one of the carriage house rooms and invited us up to get a glimpse of its beauty and comfort. We left that afternoon excited about spending our honeymoon in such a beautiful home, located only minutes from downtown Asheville and within miles of many of Asheville's primary attractions.

Our honeymoon was nothing less than wonderful! Our room was immaculate and distinct, with its gorgeous craftsman detail, luxury shower and whirlpool bath, comfortable bed, cozy fireplace (which we did, in fact, use even in hot June!), etc. While the kind ladies who worked there would have gladly cleaned our room daily and upon our request, they respected our desire for privacy and would thoughtfully leave anything we needed right outside of our door. My wife and I were excited to see each morning what new and delightful surprise would be carried to our room for breakfast. We stayed five days, and the first day's breakfast was just as delicious as the last!

In sum, the 1900 Inn on Montford most definitely exceeded our expectations! Ron and Lynn (along with Karen and Debbie) are some of the nicest people you will ever meet and are determined to make your stay both pleasant and memorable. We would gladly return and plan to stay again in the near future!

Lynn and Allie Cat where excellent hostesses! Lynn was very particular on details - from the decor to the jacuzzi, from the cookies and cakes at night, to being very informed on what to do and where to go, staying at the 1900 Inn on Montford was a great experience.

We stayed in the Carriage House behind the main house and if you want a great private get-away place to stay - this is the place. After a long day of visiting the Biltmore and shopping, the jacuzzi with a fire in the fireplace was the best. A whole room devoted to this great tube. We had never seen one like it. The Carriage House would be great for honeymooners or a second honeymoon.

We fell in love with Ashville and the mountains - it has a wonderful beauty and the air was so crisp and clean. No sinus problems while we were there.

See that Lynn now has a Cabin on the Lower Flat Creek. Hopefully we can visit Asheville again as a vacation destination.

Thanks for a wonderful experience!

My long-time friend and I planned our fourth visit to Asheville shortly before Christmas to enjoy the holiday festivities at The Biltmore, to see some of the city's many art galleries, and to appreciate the mountain scenery. On our three previous visits, Robert and I stayed in another B&B in the Montford historic district, the Richmond Hill Inn, and in a private home. Each lodging provided a unique experience.

We liked the design and decor of the 1900 Inn on Montford, and were pleased with our room's location on the back side of the building overlooking a new addition. The owners, Lynn and Ron, and the staff were extremely friendly and hospitable. Lynn and Ron decorated the house with art works purchased during the years they lived in England. Lynn placed several Saint Nicks around the living room for Christmas. And she enjoys chatting with her guests.

The O. Henry Room (at a nightly rate of $185 plus tax) was immaculate, if a little worn, and our bed was soft and firm. Coffee was left outside at 8 a.m. giving us a chance to wake up slowly watching the flames flicker in the gas fireplace. A rich and delicious three-course breakfast was served at 9 a.m. The staff is sensitive to dietary needs and will adjust its menu accordingly.

The B&B provides coffee and tea, afternoon sweets, weekend entertainment and wine. We listened to a singer and banjo player, who was performing downstairs, in the comfort of our room with our door open.

Robert and I stayed three nights and met several pleasant, younger couples from Michigan, Ohio and North Carolina. We also enjoyed playing with Alley, the owners' delightful cat, who waited outside our door expectantly (although successfully) one morning .

We have stayed in B&Bs coast-to-coast and found the 1900 Inn on Montford one of the nicest.

  • Liked — Vintage, design and decor of home
  • Disliked — Radiator heat dependent on use of gas fireplaces
