Very expensive. Beautiful location. Sports complex and pool not conveniently located. Ice machines located on 5th floor only. Tub is high and it is difficult to get in and out of. Staff is very attentive.

We wanted some place special to celebrate a special occassion but found the room to be just average. The hotel ambiance is really nice but the food was nothing special. Overall the Hotel maybe special for Asheville but did not live up to hotels in major metropolitan areas.

It is rare to see a 100+ year old hotel that has transitioned to a newer look in the rooms without losing its charm. Omni Grove manages to do that and has a staff that seems to care about the history.
Food is fine and the common spaces are about as comfortable as you can imagine and have retained their look of old. It is about 5 minutes from town and allows for a breath of fresh air while looking out on the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Room Tip: Try to get a higher floor as floor three doesn't see the mountains well.

This was our first visit to Asheville and we loved it. The Omni Grove Park Inn was amazing. It's the kind of resort you wouldn't ever have to leave. But there's so much to do in the area you should enjoy the resort and the community.
Make sure you visit the Spa. Wow, is it amazing.
The staff is outstanding and go out of their way to make your stay special.
Be sure and explore the resort. There are numerous restaurants, bars, shops and lounges. The views are great.

Room Tip: Mountain view rooms are great but you'll enjoy the resort with any view

I stayed one night and was impressed from the first step onsite. I had wanted to go to the Grove Park Inn for as long as I could remember. The hotel does not disappoint. I was concerned that since it had been acquired by the Omni that it would lose some of the charm and specialness I'd always heard about. Although I hadn't visited it before now, it felt very special to me. Almost every hotel employee I spoke with could share some aspect of the property's history and lore, and most did with much enthusiasm. Don't be disappointed if you cannot get a room in the older part of the hotel. The new wings are very modern and comfortable without losing the charm of the historic. The lobby bar is a fun hang, and the giant twin fireplaces flanking the lobby are quite incredible. Even the hallway to their spa is almost like its own experience - even if you don't get a treatment there check out the hallway leading to the spa. There are little paths and twists and turns all over the property to explore and go back in time. Read up on the history of the hotel and be sure to talk with the bellmen or the old wing elevator operator about "The Pink Lady" - their resident ghost. And BTW, the elevator in the old section is actually inside one of the fireplace chimneys! It's old school - very cool. I wished I'd had more time to explore every inch of this fascinating hotel.

Room Tip: ask for a room with a mountain view

I attended a meeting recently at the Grove Park Inn in Ashville, NC. This is a beautiful hotel and the service and amenities were wonderful. I would recommend this hotel to everyone who plans to visit Ashville, NC.

From the moment we drove up, we felt the southern hospitality from the gracious staff. The hotel has a warm, lodge feel to it from the beautiful stone exterior to the grand lobby with fireplace and rocking chairs. We had a lovely room on the 7th floor overlooking the golf course and beautiful mountains. The room was very clean and spacious; beds very comfortable and many extras. Bath robes, refrigerator, coffemaker, fabulous products in the bathroom, plenty of large, fluffy towels. The breakfast buffet is so incredible. It has everything. Lox and Bagels, biscuits and gravy, fruits, at least a dozen hot entrees, breads, cereals, grits, oatmeal. We didn't need lunch. Again, friendly, helpful staff that made us feel at home. GREAT shops with excellent prices for a resort of this caliber. Valets always had our car ready and waiting for us. The only negative thing about this trip was we had to check out ... Do stay at the Grove Park Inn, you will not be disappointed.

Room Tip: check location on map, can be a long walk from your room to the restaurants. Stay closer to the ele...
