“Great but pricey - worth every penny :) Updates needed, though”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2013

We stayed in the Grove Park Inn for 5 days this month - the service is amazing, the views and the atmosphere are priceless, the ambiance and history exceed expectation, just hanging out in their massive Grand Hall, sipping hot chocolate, meeting people, enjoying cuddling up with my hubby in the rocking chairs by the huge fire places... aw, it was magical! We ate in the Sunset Terrace restaurant at night, it was in the mid 50's, but the heaters and complimentary blankets kept us toasty, and the food and service was amazing! The bed in our room was AWESOME and the room was quite large. This place does need some much needed updates to their public area restrooms, they are super small and smelly (hate saying that, but true), and the towels in our resort-view room were SO rough! they never once gave us hand towels, only wash cloths and towels, and I dreaded using them lol... also, there was no complimentary breakfast, AT ALL :( but all in all, it was a trip of a life time :)

Very nice, but expensive - be aware of fees not disclosed until check in, hotel with an excellent spa. The ambience is rustically elegant with an early 1900s feel. You can almost see the flappers and hear the swing band when you approach the entrance.

Service has gone down considerably since Inn was sold. It's ashame because this use to be a wonderful getway location. The valet service locked keys in car.Never did get a Bellman to help us with our luggage as we were leaving.Tried to get luggage cart myself and hotel staff would not let me.

This hotel has a lots of history and character. We stayed in an older room which was nice, except the bed/mattress needed to be replaced. Not confortable at all. Food was fine in all four restaurants we dined. The breakfast (buffet) is one of the best we've encountered. They need to re-think charging for parking as it is NOT in a busy city location.

I had gone to North Carolina to see the Biltmore and was lucky to stay at the Grove Park Inn. I did not realize that this was it's 100 year. What a jem of an inn and a lovely resort. I ate all my meals at the Inn and only ventured out to play tourist in Asheville and see the Biltmore. The staff were very very helpful and everyone made me feel very special. When you go..you must spend time watching the sunset and then later in the evening sit by one of the fire places. It is pure magic!

My husband and I went for brunch while visiting Asheville this past weekend. Every aspect of the brunch was great--service was attentive, the food was delicious, and the view was spectacular. It was a perfect way to start the day before braving the masses at the Biltmore

The hotel is too big and too hard to get around. Elevators are not convienent. Parking is expensive. The food is over priced. The views are great, if you do not get a room overlooking the arrival parking lot. Once you are at the Grove Park Inn, it is hard to get back into Asheville, expecially from the Vanderbilt Parking garage. Park in the Samons wing garage, it will save five minutes of driving time.

Thank you for being our guest on your recent business trip and providing feedback. We are sorry if you felt that our services and amenities were overpriced. We strive to provide an experience that is in=line with our price point and regret falling short of that in your case. We hope you will choose to stay with again if you have another opportunity.
