“Beautiful Place!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2013

Our stay was in the middle of December and the place was decorated beautifully for christmas. They had ginger bread exhibits which really added to the festive atmosphere. We stayed in the historic section and it was really charming. Great restaurants and shops no need to leave the hotel.

We appreciate your nice comments about our historic Inn. Thank you for leaving a review here for your fellow travelers. It sounds like you enjoyed your holiday getaway and we hope you also get a chance to visit us at another time of year. Fall in the mountains is beautiful!

“Amazing spa and cafe service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2013

I stayed at the spa at the Grove Park Inn for one day. I was impressed by the professionalism and friendliness of the spa attendants. They were knowledgeable and responsive when I needed something, but I also felt like I had sufficient privacy. Everything in the spa (the vanities, refreshments, towels, and my favorite peppermint-scented washcloths) was well-stocked, even in the middle of the holidays.

We visited the spa cafe in the afternoon and the two ladies working were delightful; Alexandra is a sweetheart. The couples lounge is extremely peaceful, comfortable, and romantic. Overall, the management at the spa was efficient and wonderful. The Inn itself is beautiful, with huge fireplaces and unforgettable mountain views. I couldn't stop admiring the stone walls. I also enjoyed listening to the live music at night. I'm very much looking forward to returning.

“Now I Know....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2013

Made a recent trip without really knowing the history of the inn. My family loved the grounds and the cozy feeling of the inn. We love Asheville in general, but we want to make a yearly trip to this great in each year. The next time, we will be sure to book our spa appointments and babysitting before hand.

Thank you for your October visit. Isn’t Fall a beautiful time to be in Asheville? We certainly think so. Thanks for your kind words and, yes, you will definitely need to plan a trip to The Spa. To say that it is amazing is an understatement! See you soon.

“Downhill slide?”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2013

This is the fourth or fifth time we have stayed here, and for the first time, there are some real negatives. Clearly new owners have cut hosekeeping staff. Our room was not only not ready when we arrived, it was not ready until close to 5, causing real problems with early dinner reservations. The next day at 2pm our room had still not been cleaned, and I had to call front desk.

For what is billed as a first class resort, and for these prices, I would expect far better housekeeping service. This is not the fault of the housekeeping staff -- they
do a good job -- but instead, The new owners/management must have cut back on the amount of staff they employ. For a big weekend such as this, it would be prudent to increase housekeeping staff.

Also, I think some of the rooms could use a paint job, and furniture refinishing. Still a grand old hotel, though.

“A beautiful facility”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2013

My wife and I have stayed here on several occasions and we always enjoy ourselves. The best part of this property is the spa. The hotel itself is beautiful and I hope KSL puts some money into some much needed renovations. We had a couple of bumps during our stay but we enjoyed it nonetheless and we will return.

Room Tip: Choose a room with a mountain view.
