“Great Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2013

This is a very good hotel in a great location. I would highly recommend. The hotel is currently under renovation and it will be awesome when this is done. There is a TGI Friday's attached to the hotel and it is in the heart of Biltmore Village. This is where I stay every time I come to Asheville.

We visited Asheville, NC on April 13, 2013. This hotel was very clean and the location was convenient. It is located close to nearly everything. I was impressed with the helpfulness of the staff and the cleanliness of the hotel. We will stay there again.

Room Tip: There were people smoking on their balconies and it blew on us, they need to enforce the non-smoking...

This is a large sprawling facility with a central open garden courtyard. We had a king suite on the fifth floor of the tower. The room was clean and very large. The bed was comfortable. The décor was mellow. The bathroom was a reasonable size and the closet had full length mirror doors. The pool was a good size, and the hot tub was hot. We ate dinner in the "on premises TGI Fridays" which was pleasant but unremarkable. We had breakfast in the dining room which included a made to order omelette bar. I'd definitely stay here again.

Arrived late 8pm and room reserved was not available. RESERVED a suite with 2 double/queen beds. Since late arrival I will assume they upgraded someone else. I say assume since my wife and I got 2 different stories as to why the room was not available. The girl there at night was not very friendly or accommodating. She tried to tell my wife we were upgraded to a better room because it had a bigger bathroom?? [--] I have 2 kids I need more room space not bathroom space hence the suite I reserved. Next day spoke to the Day manager guy, cannot recall his name and he found us a king suite that worked out fine. He was very helpful and apologetic. Nothing like the night girl who seemed to be bothered by us being irritated that THEY gave away the room we reserved. Hotel currently under construction on the wing we were on so elevator service was slow on that side.

Pool great for kids could use more chairs around the pool but otherwise fine since not very busy.

Location decent fairly close to downtown. short ride. But beware of the traffic jams between 3-6pm. Must of been a early bird special somewhere as that road was jammed. If not for the pool probably would of stayed at the loft or somewhere you could walk around downtown.

This hotel is going through a million dollar renovation but it is not disrupting anything. Great service, great breakfast, clean rooms. Stay there every time I go to Asheville, which is quite often. Also an A+.

We were treated to a king suite and were surprised by chocolate covered strawberries and sparkling cider (since my wife is pregnant) waiting for us in our room while staying for our anniversary. All the staff we had met during our stay were extremely polite. Perfect location if visiting Biltmore Estate (entrance is no more than 1/4 mile from the hotel). The room was clean and nicely furnished and the jetted tub was awesome. You do have to pay for breakfast however the price is reasonable for a buffet and what you would pay for any meal in the area. I would stay again just for the applewood smoked bacon on the buffet. We would definitely stay again.

Only stayed one night, so my review is limited. Very professional check in, very quick, problem free. We were given a room on the ground floor on the front. It had just been renovated complete with new carpet. Construction was still underway on the floors above, but that was not a problem for us.

Room was nice, everything worked well. My only complaint was hallway noise and we could hear the people in the adjacent room. There were some children running up and down the hallway and their talking and laughing echoed pretty bad. When the people in the next room came in, we could hear them talking through the walls. It would be nice if they could have spent a little more money on soundproofing and acoustics.

I am sure all of the facilities here are great we just did not use them all. It may have been better to get a room on a higher floor. The noise did settle down before too late and we did get a nice nights sleep. Beds were comfortable. The coffee in the room was good and the hot choc chip cookies at check in were not to bad either.

The adjacent restaurant "TGIF" is not open for breakfast, however, the hotel does have its own restaruant and there are quite a few fast food places nearby.

I would stay here again, but I would not say it is better than most in its class. For the price, there are some competitors very close that provide a little more such as a continental breakfast, etc.

Room Tip: If I were to stay here again, I would probably request a room on a higher floor.
