“Beautiful Room, Great Location, Free Breakfast but WiFi sucked”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 20, 2012

This was our first time staying at this hotel. We choose it for it's proximity to The Biltmore and downtown Asheville..and because of the free breakfast. We reserved a King Executive suite and it was a beautiful room. It was very large, had a couch, a chair, a bench, a computer desk, hd tv, two bathroom sink areas.. one outside the toilet/bath area. It had a fridge and microwave.

Our only complaint with the room was the free wifi. We were able to connect our laptop when we first arrived, but we could never connect any of our other items ( ipad, smartphones, tablet etc) and in the morning I couldn't connect the laptop. The service was down to 1 bar and it would time out before you could log in. We had called down to the desk and the person at the desk did not think anyone else had a problem, although he did say that he often has to restart the wifi and "then there are no problems"..which leads me to believe that there are sometimes problems. I do think that part of our problem may have been that we were on the fourth (top) floor. We may have been too far from the router..but to me, if you offer free wifi, it should be a strong connection in the ENTIRE hotel. Luckily, we have a mobile hotspot. If you don't.. you may not want to stay on the top floor.

That is our only complaint though. The front desk was very friendly and helpful when we checked in. The breakfast buffet was extensive and the scrambled eggs were actually good!

For the females.. the lighting in the secondary sink/mirror area was very good for putting on make up.

We would stay here again when visiting Asheville. You can just take Tunnel Rd right in to the downtown area.

Room Tip: For animal lovers.. the hotel is "pet-friendly". They have the 3rd floor set aside for gue...

“Standard Holiday Inn”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 19, 2012

This is a more than adequate lodging- clean, with friendly staff, in a reasonable location for visiting Asheville. The buffet breakfast is only so-so. Items ran out and were not promptly replenished and some of the hot dishes were somewhat overcooked. Make your own waffle was the best item. Can get very crowded with bus tour guests.

“Very nice stay in a cozy clean hotel.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 19, 2012 via mobile

We enjoyed our stay at the HI for 1 night. The location is good because it's not far from downtown. The hotel staff was very friendly. The hotel has a mountain lodge feel which is very cozy. We were a little worried that the hotel allows dogs and that you would be able to tell, but we were on a floor that doesn't allow pets. The rooms were clean and nice. I have no complaints about our stay!

“Terrific Experience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2012

We were only there for a single night - but it was a good experience. Once again, we chose to just eat at our hotel - and were really delighted with the food. The room was clean and comfortable and we spent a comfortable night. The next morning we encountered a large tour group in the breakfast area and had to sit at a crowded bar to eat our breakfast - which left something to be desired - but we could have just as easily gone out to eat...just didn't want to be bothered. Overall, it was a good experience.

“Great location for Biltmore visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 8, 2012

Hotel staff is very professional and helpful with a smile. Close to the Biltmore and have tickets available for purchase to the estate. Rooms were clean and spacious with pillows marked soft or firm. Breakfast is an ample buffet of hot and cold dishes and fresh fruit.
