“Great Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2012

Stayed here in Sept 2011. I've been to Asheville many times, and always choose different places. Sometimes upscale, so it's Inn on Biltmore, or Grove Park.....go with the Inn.

Other times are average places. Last trip was booked here based off of TripAdvisor reviews and I couldn't have been happier.

Place was just what I wanted. Clean, charming but simple hotel near the center of town, close to the Estate and close to Downtown. Love breakfast so the big breakfast room was fantastic with anything you could want. Coffee and cookies all day in the lobby are good too.

Next trip back I would stay at this County Inn again. Nice and quiet off Tunnel Road. I can't wait to come back. I love Asheville!

Stayed two nights with my husband and young daughter. The room was large and in very good condition. The staff were helpful and the breakfast more than adequate for this class of hotel. The pool was also very nice and in excellent condition. All in all we had a very enjoyable stay and would definitely consider returning to this hotel.

Our recent stay at the Country Inn & Suites Tunnel Rd. was very enjoyable. The room was great, the breakfast was great, the staff was very helpful, and the hotel was clean and well kept. The desk called after we settled in to make sure the room was OK. The hair dryer went out on us. I told the front desk, and within 5 minutes, someone was there putting in a new one. I do agree with the review that complained that the hotel is humid. Our room sure was. It seems that the AC units do not remove humidity from the air as they should. Other than that, the staff is friendly, helpful, and trying to please. I do recommend this property. It is also very convenient to the mountains and to downtown.

This was our second experience with a stay at Country Inn & Suites, and like their facility in New Orleans, we found it to be a good choice as far as cleanliness, friendliness and helpfulness of staff, and value were concerned. My wife and I have stayed at nicer hotels in Asheville in the past, including the Grove Park Inn, and if a plush, pampered experience is what you're seeking, this hotel should not be your pick. Buf if a good location, spacious clean room, well trained staff, very good breakfast included in your room price at a moderate rate fits the bill, I recommend this hotel for your consideration.

We stayed for two nights and were very well satisfied with every aspect of our stay. Nearly all the Asheville attractions, restaurants, and activities are are located within a short drive's distance, and even though the hotel was completely full both nights we were there, our room was much quieter than many we have experienced. That includes sounds from inside as well as outside the hotel. I don't know if it was our particular room (#409) or just that we had super quiet neighbors, but we were both pleasantly surprised about that.

Once again, we thank Country Inn & Suites for a nice place to stay while on a trip, and will certainly keep them in mind the next time we're planning a trip.

Room Tip: Our room at the middle of the fourth floor was very quiet.

I think the hotel rankings in Asheville are a little skewed....since it is either $300 plus for luxury or $200 below for standard issue rooms. Summer is peak season for this area so this hotel was a good value since the rate included 2 two day Biltmore tickets and $20 gift card. As other have said the carpets and common areas are a little old & dated. It smells like pool chlorine when you walk in. The beds are comfy & breakfast is adequate ( chicken bits included!) and it was quiet. If $$ is not a factor go to the Grove Park or Biltmore. But if you are in Asheville to see the sites not the hotel this place will work fine.

We frequently go up to Asheville and always stay in the Tunnel Road Country Inn and Suites. The staff is always welcoming and accommodating, and the breakfast there is excellent. I disagree with another reviewer who said it was like all Country Inn and Suites breakfasts -- it is much better than one we had in another city earlier this year. We recently had to go to Burnsville and Asheville, and found the hotel to be excellent as always. It is convenient and comfortable, and there is always a nice selection of teas as well as coffee, cookies and usually fruit available at all hours.

We stayed at this hotel recently while we were in Asheville. The front desk staff was incredibly nice and the room was very clean and spacious. The Wi-fi was fast and the hotel was located in a great area. The breakfast was awesome and lasted until 10:30 (for the weekend). There was oatmeal, waffles, gravy, biscuits, eggs, bacon, and even little packs of salsa. My only complaint about this hotel is that the room had an odd smell and it was humid in the hotel. I believe that the smell was a result of the humidity. If a humid room wouldn't bother you I recommend staying here, but if you have a sensitive nose then I would stay somewhere else. Again, that is my ONLY complaint about an otherwise great hotel.
