“What's not to love!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 17, 2011

The Beaufort House Inn is set in a beautiful neighborhood in the midst of the amazing city of Asheville. It gives you the feeling of visiting the city because of proximity but when I could only see the sunrise and the tree branches out my window in the morning I felt I woke in the country. Breakfast was great and everyone was so warm and welcoming. I can't wait to go back!

The Beaufort House is very quaint and charming. Erica at the front desk as well as Chris and Jim (the innkeepers) were very nice and accommodating. We stayed in one of the carriage houses in the back which I liked because you still go the B & B feel but also some privacy. Our little back porch was delightful. It's easy to get to, there is plenty of parking and it is very close to downtown Asheville. They will tell you how to get there on foot or where you can park for free and not get towed (which is a huge help!). I do have a few complaints. First, the breakfasts were a bit on the sweet side. We had 2 breakfasts there and both times both courses were sweet (very sweet actually). We missed breakfast one morning and apparently it was more on the savory side but it would be nice to have one sweet and one savory course in one sitting. Also, breakfast is at 9 which I think is kind of late (this is why we missed breakfast one day because we wanted to get an early start). The other complaint is that our room had no shower. Beware if you stay in the carriage house that there is only a jacuzzi type bathtub in the room (it's literally in the room, not in a separate bathroom). So if you need privacy or want a quick shower it's not possible. The tub was also a little dirty (I think it was something in the pipes so they wouldn't have been able to clean it) and takes a long time to fill because of low water pressure. Other than those two minor complaints, it was a great stay and I would definitely stay there again.

This beautiful home shines! Rooms were cozy and immaculate, Location was great and the innkeepers could not have been more welcoming. They happily supplied info on all the sights in the Asheville area. At the end of our day we were greated with tea, coffee, wine and chocolate treats.

Beaufort House is a great building in a great location with terrific hosts. Chris & Jim were very sensitive to their guests without being intrusive. Excellent, very helpful staff as well.

Our bedroom wasn't huge, but it was big enough, with a large & modern private bath, and if the weather had been warm we could have enjoyed the adjoining porch as well. The public rooms were spacious and quite comfortable. Awesome neighborhood. I grew up in Asheville and return often to visit family, so I know it well and have stayed in quite a few different places. Beaufort House will be among our favorites.

This was our second visit. We love the room and the general feel of the property. The hosts and their staff could not be more friendly and more helpful. The breakfasts are to die for. Many interesting guests and great comradery at the table and during the wine hour.

Our family of 4 stayed at The Beaufort House Inn for 5 nights. It was the best bed and breakfast we have ever stayed at, and as a family we have traveled extensively thru the US and Europe. The B&B is elegant yet cozy with very filling gourmet breakfasts, and friendly hosts. We will be going back anytime we are in the Asheville area.

My husband and I traveled to Asheville for New Year's with my parents who are in their 80s. We were looking for a place that we could all feel comfortable and to take into account my parent's special needs and dietary restrictions Christina and Jim, the innkeepers, exceeded our expectations. They were warm and attentive. Gathering for the wine hour every evening was a great way to have everyone involved and we also got to know the other guests. The open kitchen idea accommodated everyone's schedules.

I do a lot of traveling for business and the inn would be a good place for a corporate retreat.

We can't wait to return!
