We stayed at the Beaufort House Inn for three nights while attending a conference at the Grove Park Inn. The inn has several beautiful rooms in the main house but we stayed in the Dogwood Cottage, one of the restored buildings on the property. The house interior has been redecorated in a clean and elegant style by the new innkeepers. There are plants, orchids, and flowers throughout. The gardens are lovingly maintained and were most inviting even in November. There are many intimate areas, even a wooden swing in a big oak tree.
Chris and Jim are wonderful and inventive cooks and breakfast at the polished dining table was a treat. On Friday evening we had wine, cheese and delightful conversation on the wide porch. We met other guests and got inside information on where to dine and what to see.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Beaufort House and would return there if we found ourselves in need of lodging in Asheville.
