“Phew!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2013

We were worried, with all the five star reviews, what if we didn't like this place? Wouldn't it be awful to have to be the first negative reviewer? Turns out the Reynolds Mansion is well deserved of the five rating. Everyone who we came in contact with working at the Inn was friendly and welcoming, breakfast was excellent, and the history of the mansion was fascinating. We came to Asheville for a family reunion and had planned to stay closer to downtown than the rest of the family. I am glad we did because we wouldn't of had the pleasure to stay at the Reynolds Mansion. There is nothing I can say that hasn't already been said, other than nod my head in agreement. Our only disappointment was that we didn't stay one more night, due to the reunion, we were a bit rushed and didn't get to enjoy the mansion as much as we would of liked.

What an amazing place! 1st time visitors and would like to come back again and again. Our room was so beautiful and Billy and Mike are so wonderful to their guests with all the small details that made our stay so relaxing! The best breakfasts in the South, decadent, delicious, plentiful but what makes them even better is that you feel the love and care Billy, Mike and their staff put into making these amazing dishes- I wanted to stay longer, sitting on the porch looking at the beautiful gardens surrounding the mansion. Before you venture out to eat please make sure you go to all the places they recommend since we tried them all and were NEVER disappointed.

We enjoyed every part of our stay at the Reynolds Mansion. Billy is the best host we have ever had, sharing his personal home with all his guests, sharing details of the history of the mansion and the people who made it famous. The details are fantastic, and the 2nd floor porch is perfect place to watch the sunset, my wife and I sat out there both nights and just marveled at the view from the porch. The grounds are perfectly maintained, the breakfast that Billy prepared was fantastic, and he had so many recommendations of things to do and places to eat, we had a couple of the best meals in the area based on his recommendations. Highly recommended and we will be back.

This was the best B&B we have stayed at anywhere. The staff was wonderful and the food was great. Billy was a marvelous host. I love the history of the house that gives you the feel of old time class. We didn't want to leave.

The Reynolds Mansion has been kindly and lovingly renovated by Mike and Billy, its two gracious and hospitable innkeepers. Tokens from their own families mingle with the homes' former owners' histories and include large framed portraits of their own mothers! It is a quirky and loveable place -- the breakfast would easily fill 2 or even 3 truckdrivers, so beware.... (I hope they donate uneaten portions or do anything but throw the delicious food away.). We recommend this B&B very highly.

Room Tip: Katy's room is a delight....but they are all lovely.

The Reynolds Mansion is perfect in every way - from the most delicious breakfasts, to beautiful porches from which to enjoy a glass of wine. Billy and Mike and the entire staff made our stay truly enjoyable. Billy has the most remarkable stories of the history behind the mansion and the Reynolds family. My husband and I loved our visit and will certainly return again.

How can I begin to describe my recent stay at the Reynolds Mansion? If only Trip Advisor offered a way to rate Reynolds Mansion with more than 5 stars! My husband and I stayed there two nights for our anniversary and we both agreed that our favorite part of the trip was listening to Billy Sanders (our host and the co-owner) tell stories at breakfast each morning about the history of the mansion and the Reynolds family. He is a master storyteller with a real knack for drawing his guests into the mansion's interesting and unusual history! In addition, Billy is the consummate host. He takes genuine interest in the many activities his guests are doing in the Asheville area and by the end of my stay there, I felt like Billy was family.
The grounds of Reynolds Mansion are absolutely stunning with gorgeous flowers everywhere, an amazing view of the mountains, an herb and vegetable garden, and the beekeeping area that Billy tends to himself! If you take a walk around the grounds, be sure to look up and down for the little surprises all around that will make your walk even more delightful!
My husband and I stayed in the very spacious and luxurious Linda room. The Linda room features a lovely king-sized bed, large closet, bathroom, television, and fireplace. The bed was the softest, most comfortable bed I have ever slept on! I love the fact that the bathroom, while small and quaint, had plenty of shelf space to put things on which is hard to find in most B&B's.
Breakfast each morning was such a treat - true Southern fare! Billy makes the best grits I have ever eaten and his banana/nut pancakes were superb! Staff on hand attended to guests every need, keeping coffee/teacups and water glasses filled. It was great to have such a hearty breakfast to begin a day of fun in the Asheville area!
Reynolds Mansion is truly a bed and breakfast treasure! Thank you to Billy, Mike, and the Reynolds Mansion staff for your extraordinary kindness and our wonderful stay! We look foward to many return trips in the future!

Room Tip: The Linda room is very spacious with a large king-sized bed.
