We booked the room at the Visitors Center when we pulled into Asheville. The new owner, Greg, met us at the door and gave us the grand tour. We stayed in one of the smaller rooms on the 2nd floor, The Geranium Room. We liked it just fine, but we don't need lots of space. It was clean and the bathroom window looked out onto the gorgeous back garden & gazebo. Great breakfast each morning and cookies at night. Chocolate everywhere, too. Greg was very friendly. Slightly cheaper tickets to The Biltmore and they were valid for 2 days. There was a water cooler and freezer and fridge for guests on the porch. Eat dinner at Rezaz in Biltmore Village!

This was our first time staying in a B&B and it definately set our standards high. Greg (the owner) was very friendly when we arrived and we immediately noticed how clean the home was and the grounds were well taken care of. Greg had a great area set up with information on local activities and resturaunts which made planning simple. We stayed in the Marsh, which is the only room on the third floor, and we found it spacious, quiet and very private. The robes made a nice touch along with the chocolates and bottled water and there was always something to snack on downstairs. Breakfast was served on time and was fantastic and filling. We liked the convenience of dowtown and Biltmore being only five minutes away and you still felt like you were away from it all. We recommend anyone to stay at North Lodge on Oakland.

My husband was surpising me on our 38th wedding anniversary with staying 2 nights at this charming & cozy B&B which is convenient to downtown & the Biltmore house. Proprietor Greg made our first experience a positive one. A wonderful hot breakfast was served every morning & he'll even share his carefully thought out receipes with you just for the asking. Every evening a plate of warm cookies & tea selections was layed out for guests. Free beverages & snacks are offered as well as DVD's. We got a comfortable night's rest on the queen bed in the Magnolia Room. A stroll out to the gazebo with our coffee in the mornings was a perfect way to start off the day. If you need restaurant recommendations or are wondering what to do in the area Greg is a knowlegeable host. My husband and I would definitely recommend this B&B to family & friends.

The North Lodge is clean, comfy and spacious - not to mention very lovely. The first floor is a nice place to read the morning paper and have a cup of coffee. The room my husband and I stayed in ("Tiffany") had a small sitting area in addition to the bedroom and a large bathroom. Also, the location is great. It's in a quiet residential area, which was about a mile from downtown and the Biltmore. At first, we were a little apprehensive because it is very close to the local hospital, but we never heard any sirens or the like. The owner, Greg, is great. When we arrived, he was baking cookies - which were delicious. He was very welcoming and made us feel right at home immediately. He is also very knowledgeable about the area and had great suggestions on what to do and where to eat. And when we had to leave early our last morning, he made us muffins to take with us for breakfast. You should definitely stay at the North Lodge!
