“Stunning House, Great Staff, Loud Street”

1891 Cedar Crest Inn

This B&B is the nicest one that I have ever seen. The house is truly unique and has fantastic detail. Rita and Bruce were great hosts. The breakfasts were simply awesome!!! HOWEVER, if you plan on staying here, do NOT stay in a room facing Biltmore Avenue. The house is next to a hospital and you will hear ambulances!! More importantly, it is located near a train track that runs at all hours at the night (like 5 am every morning). Not to mention motorcycles and cars. You will hear it for sure. Of course, the house is not noisey until you try to go to sleep. It truly was a scene from "My Cousin Vinny". Other reviews did mention this. Check them out. I am not sure if other occupants of other parts of the house hear this noise, but I can't imagine that they can't. I did give them a 5 rating though because of the house itself and the hosts. Perhaps a 4 would have been more appropriate. Still a great, sleepless experience.....

This is a beautiful B&B in a great location. I wanted to post an additional comment (and special thanks) about the the great hospitality demonstrated by the owners, Rita and Bruce. We were in a hurry on check out day and left our lap top in our room. Not only did Rita track us down via cell phone to alert us, she graciously sent it to us via FedEx the next day...to New Jersey. Cedarcrest is great B&B, and Rita and Bruce are super hosts - we will return.

“A Gracious Stay at this Queen Anne Victorian”

1891 Cedar Crest Inn

Oct 20, 2007

A beautifully renovated inn with period decorations. We stayed in the Tower Room, which was cozy, cool, and private, but we also enjoyed the parlour and the marvelous veranda. Rita was a warm and engaging hostess, sharing some of her favorite Asheville attractions, such as the arts and craft musuem and the fantastic bonsai collection at the botanical gardens. We never did meet Bruce except through his food: every morning, he prepared a veritable feast for breakfast for us. No standard fare, either, but home-made entrees such as peaches and cream french toast and cheese, sausage, and egg casserole in addition to fruits and breakfast breads or muffins. With such a splendid start, we explored nearby Biltmore Estate and the Smith-McDowell House, the oldest house in Asheville. There were beverages in the afternoon at the inn and a dessert waiting when we returned from dining out. And, for those of us who can't be "out of touch," wi fi internet service was available. An excellent place to stay near downtown Asheville. Strongly recommended by P. and K. Burgess.

“Nice place, nice service”

1891 Cedar Crest Inn

Sep 22, 2007

My husband and I live in Asheville and chose this inn as a place to spend a couple nights after our wedding as we were not leaving town right away. We found everything to be very nice. Our room was lovely, the food was good and the hosts were very nice. We will definitely recommend it to friends coming to town for a visit.

“A Charming Place To Stay In Asheville!”

My husband & I stayed at the Cedar Crest Inn this past August and our stay could not have been any better.

The inn is absolutely beautiful; the decor is breathtaking and like taking a step back in time. The grounds are peaceful and relaxing and the location is wonderful.

The inn is close to the Biltmore House entrance, Biltmore Village and tthe downtown Asheville area. All are a short drive away, not within comfortable walking distance.

Rita, Bruce and their staff were so friendly and accomodating. They were all helpful in their suggestions on where to go for dinner, what events were going on around town etc.

The breakfasts were delightful; and it was quite a treat to dine on such a beautiful veranda in the mornings. IThe afternoon lemonade and cookies on the veranda was a charming & refreshing way to relax after a long day of touring the Biltmore House & Biltmore Village.

They pay close attention to detail for their guests and you feel very welcome and comfortable. We highly recommend the Cedar Crest Inn !
