“Great place to stay in Asheville”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2013

We had a wonderful time at Applewood Manor. The accomodations are very nice and comfortable. The breakfasts prepared by Nancy are three course and delicious. Nancy and Larry are very attentive and helpful. I would recommend staying here if you go to Aheville.

From start to finish, every detail was perfect. We enjoyed the food and the room was very comfortable. Larry and Nancy were wonderful hosts and we enjoyed visiting with the other guests as well. We will visit again when we return to Asheville.

We spent one night at Applewood Inn on our way to the beach in South Carolina. Nancy and Larry made our stay extremely fun and comfortable! Our room was just what we needed for relaxation after a walk to downtown Asheville. Breakfast was incredibly delicious and Larry was quite the entertainer! Do not miss this gem if you visit Asheville!

Room Tip: Their web site is great. I don't think you could go wrong with any of the rooms!

My husband and I enjoyed our 5th stay at Applewood with Nancy, Larry, Ms. Maggie and Lila. Each time we have gone we have always stayed a full week and we can't seem to get enough of this place! The house is beautiful, if not historical. The breakfast conversation is lively, if not humorous (thanks to Larry's story-telling!). And speaking of breakfasts...Nancy's skill in the kitchen to put together a four-course breakfast is AMAZING! The grounds are spacious and comfortably arranged with 6-7 different seating areas including a gazebo, several porches, swing, etc. Several of the rooms have balconies and we always opt for this so we can sit out and enjoy a glass of wine or a good book. And the beds are sooooo very comfortable. I strongly recommend the next time you visit Ashville, you stay at Applewood Manor Inn. You will come away with a deep appreciation for this beautiful B&B and will have made several new friends like we did!

Room Tip: Choose a room with a balcony. Be sure to stay through breakfast ~ you won't want to miss the awe...

The Applewood Manor Inn was a very special place to stay. From the greeting at the door to the hugs as we left, the innkeepers always worked very hard to make us feel very welcome and extremely comfortable throughout. The public areas - the parlors, dining room, and numerous outside seating areas allowed for a variety of places to relax. Our room, although small, was very quiet and had everything we needed...and we sure slept well on the new mattress!! Our 3 course breakfasts were delicious. We were there 3 days and each breakfast was unique, healthy, and beautifully presented. Nancy is a fabulous cook and Larry is right there helping. Both of them are delightful, and we thank them for their very caring and warm hospitality! Oh! The cheese and wine hour was a nice touch, plus other snacks and candy that were available.

Room Tip: All the rooms that we saw were beautiful - furnished in antiques with special details. Ours (Norther...

We stayed at the Applewood Manor Inn in Asheville, NC for seven days in June, 2013. Applewood deserves a SIX STAR rating. The inn without question offers a magnificent and beautiful experience for its guests. The gracious and friendly innkeepers, Larry and Nancy, offer warm and welcoming greetings and are truly prepared to meet every need or want of their guests. The inn is a beautifully restored New England style home in the historic Montford district, just a few minutes from the many activities of downtown Asheville. The inn is comfortably and elegantly furnished -- from the sitting rooms to the dining room to the guest rooms. The surrounding gardens and lawns and the porches offer a most comfortable and restful setting -- and a perfect place to socialize with other guests and the innkeepers -- or to relax in quiet privacy. The scrumptious gourmet breakfasts, prepared by Nancy and Larry and individually served with Nancy's fresh bread, specially baked each morning, are not to be missed. They are truly a high point of our stay here. In summary, you will arrive here as guests. You will be pampered and cared for and you will leave with new friends -- guests whom you will encounter during your stay here; and Larry and Nancy with whom you will have the opportunity to develop a warm and special relationship.

As on our other visits we had a great time. Larry and Nancy were the perfect hosts and we felt "at home" from the moment we arrived until we had to leave. The food was fantastic on both days we were there - blueberry pancakes one day and two kinds of quiche on the second day. Each breakfast is a three course meal of all homemade food. Our room was clean and had all the comforts including a balcony and a remote control gas fireplace. Wonderful place to visit.

Room Tip: Three of the five rooms have balconies. We loved ours. Stay in the cottage if you want to bring yo...
