4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2008

Booked this based on TripAdvisor reviews--even so, I'm always a little wary. No need to be. Friendly staff, easy check in, clean room, comfy (new) bed, decent breakfast, easy check out, decent rate ($59.) My only beefs? It's February, and a heat lamp in the bath would be nice. Also, wi-fi was a little iffy at times. Would stay again, for sure.

Stayled overnight en route to Great Smokey Mountains. Reception staff very helpful as had been allocated room alongside busy hightway, so no problem moved to the back of the lot, which was very quiet and comfortable. Room very clean, beds fine. Breakfast area was very small (6 tables) for the number of rooms (approximately 100) so very crowded and if you wanted quick check out, would had to have missed breakfast.
Otherwise fine for one night stopover.

  • Liked — Comfortable and clean
  • Disliked — Breakfast area far too small

My husband and I went to Asheville to celebrate our anniversary, and, to attend the Annual Brewgrass Festival. We stayed 2 nights here, and would definitely stay again. The room was clean and the area felt safe. The hotel is not far from downtown at all, but close enough to walk. We didn't go to Asheville to stay in the room all the time, so it was perfect for our needs...a clean, safe place to sleep and shower. The rooms are your typical, Best Western rooms.

I wasn't expecting much for the rate we paid - $53. I was pleasantly surprised. When I give this motel a five star rating, don't expect a 5 star property, it is not. However, it is a five star motel when compared to other motels in its class. The help behind the front desk was very friendly and were happy to give us any directions or advice we needed. My room consisted of two double or queen sized beds (I forget which) and was nicely furnished and spotlessly clean. Air conditioning was quiet and worked well. There was a very nice continental breakfast that included make your own waffless, bagels, cereals, toasts, fruit, etc. Also, this hotel is close to the downtown area and also to the Biltmore mansion. I would highly recommend this property.

We booked this motel through Priceline mainly because we received a good rate and wanted to spend a week in Asheville. We weren't sure exactly what to expect, to be honest, but we were well pleased.

The motel, as noted in a prior review, did appear to have been recently remodeled. The microwave and refrigerator in our room were a plus. The room was of above average size and was clean. Couldn't ask for much more there.

The pool is smaller than it appears on the brochures and web site, but that wasn't a big deal since it was never crowded. We enjoyed the time we spent relaxing and reading at poolside, even though it is out front and somewhat close to Tunnel Road.

The free continental breakfast could be a challenge since the small dining area was almost always full. We usually took our breakfast back to the room or ate by the pool. A larger dining area would have been nice, but you couldn't argue with the price.

The hotel is located about 2 miles from downtown Asheville, closer than that to the Tunnel Rd. commercial district and very near the 240 Beltway that loops around the city and surrounding area. Another plus.

Bottom line, we were pleased and will likely stay there again in the future.

We stayed at this hotel for one evening to see a concert in Asheville. We were looking for an affordable, clean, and convenient hotel to stay at. This hotel is very accessible to I-26 and getting to the downtown area was easy. It is on a main road but the traffic wasn't absolutely terrible.

There is a nice and simple continental breakfast that consists of coffee, juice, bagels, cereal, and waffles. A nice feature for the $41.00 we spent for the room.

Our room was clean and stocked with the necessities. We did not encounter a filthy room. We had two queen size beds and although the sheets were soft, the mattress was extremely firm. But I may be used to my pillowtop mattress at home.

The staff was efficient. The pool was covered but that was expected since we were staying in March.

All in all, the amount that we spent and the time we stayed there, this hotel served its purpose. We could have chosen a more upscale establishment that cost more but this hotel met our basic needs at a reasonable rate.

  • Liked — Affordability and convenience
  • Disliked — The extra firm mattress and t.v. picture quaility
