“Wow, YUMMO!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2013

Even though we had an extra guest, our hostess and waiter, Brad, were extraordinarily accommodating! They quickly moved us to a larger table. This was the beginning of a fabulous experience! The food was fresh, pleasing to the palate and eye, and full of variety. The atmosphere was warm and cozy, yet roomy. We all loved our experience and can't wait to come back!

“Fantastic Modern Mexican Cuisine”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2013

Incredibly well done modern take on mex-cal food. This kitchen knows what it is doing!
And the Pomegranate margarita was really good.
not cheap but worth the extra dollars.

“Busy Little Place with Unique "Mexican" Dishes”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2013

Limones is located on a little side street off one of downtown Asheville's main drags. But that doesn't stop the crowds from finding it. We went early on a Saturday night and there was never a time when folks weren't waiting for a table. Our server, Emily, was delightful and very good. We started with an appetizer, lobster nachos, which, while good, would have been better if the large chunks of lobster were on one plate and the nachos on another. A real culture clash that was not successful. The entrees were terrific -- NC Chimichurri Grilled Shrimp and Seared Sea Scallops. The ten large shrimp were accompanied by terrific brussels sprouts, green chile rice and several tasty garnishes. The five large scallops were placed on a bed of fava beans and also accompanied by garnishes. A quibble here -- the plates were about 12 inches long and about 4 inches wide so you had to be really careful or the food would spill on to the table. I would vote for more usable plates versus a unique presentation. We ended the meal with coffee (excellent) and a dish of vanilla-kahlua flan surrounded by berries (out of this world good). The server said it was OK if I licked the dish. Prices are a tad high for a "Mexican" restaurant, but Limones really isn't one. The noise level was predictably high but that is the norm today. One tip: parking is scarce in downtown Asheville but you can often find street spaces on Eagle Street or park in the garage one block away under the Aloft Hotel. The first hour is free and the second is $1.00. Such a deal.

“Great Dinner”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2013

We stopped in here after walking around Downtown Asheville. Since I did not have reservations, it took a while to get a table. It was not a big deal because I tried some of the tasty variations of margaritas they make. Don't order a plain margarita, be bold and try something different. You will not be disappointed.

Dinner came out quickly and the presentation was very nice. I would definitely go back.
