Excellent food. The Lobster Newburg is highly recommended! Prepare to wait. No reservations for parties under 12. Recommend call ahead seating.

“Great Lobster”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2012

It's very hard to find good lobster in NC, but this place has it. The lobster is sweet and succulent, which means it's pretty fresh. Granted you'll find better lobster in Maine where you can eat one the same day it's caught, but here in the south we like the Lobster Trap when we visit Asheville from Charlotte. Better make a reservation or better yet - walk in and eat at the bar, it's more fun.

“Lobster”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2012

Ordered a lobster roll expecting to get what I get in Maine, not even close to size, and kind of done up too fancy for me. The lobster was delicious and very fresh though, just not enough.

“Casual seafood restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2012

Upon entering this restaurant, it looks like a bar atmosphere. There is a large bar in the center of the restaurant with tables surrounding it. There is a lot of dark wood and it is very casual. Very quickly you realize however that that you're in for a restaurant treat. Lobster and crab are offered in many different variations.
The lobster stuffed mushrooms were delicious as was the crab cake entree. Hubby had fried catfish which he said was really good. The lobster macaroni and cheese was fantastic. The portions were quite generous and very filling.
They make some of their own beers and the beer and wine selection is extensive.
The service was very attentive and you were made to feel that your enjoyment of the meal was important .

“Yummy lobster.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2012

We had good service, an excellent dinner and priced well. I can recommend the lobster, Rosemary mashed potatoes and the grilled corn on the cob. Guitar player who took requests. A tad noisy but still able to hold a conversation.
