When I booked this hotel online, I took the name to mean that it was close to the Biltmore House, my intended destination. Come to find out, it is on the opposite end of town. But you know what? It ended up being a blessing in disguise. Why? Because Asheville is small, and you can do it all in a day; and this motel is a perfect starting place. You come off the I-40 and it is right there. If you want to take Tunnel Road, you run straight into downtown. If you want to take the 40, you come right up on the exit for Biltmore House in about 5 minutes. If you want a slice of the Blueridge Parkway, the entrance is right down the street on the way to town. Then, you can sample 5 miles of the parkway on your way to the Biltmore House. The motel is very new and clean, the staff is very friendly, and of course, it has the signature Days Inn hot waffle breakfast starting at 6 am. It is more than I hoped for on my 2 day tour of Asheville. Oh, did I forget to mention that I grew up in Asheville and this was my "coming home" trip after 30 years?
