“Pure-ly and Simple-y Delicious”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2013

My husband and I stopped in for lunch on a busy Saturday. Although the space is small, it feels spacious, and because of fast and efficient service, the table turnover is quick without diners feeling rushed. We shared several choices and all portions were generous enough to do so. The fresh arugula salad was lightly dressed with a tangy vinaigrette which perfectly complemented the orange sections, beet and roasted pistachios that are part of it. Our red pizza was half Italian meats and half vegetarian, and both were very good. The chewy yeasty crust was especially delicious--a real carb craver's delight and although soft, it was thoroughly cooked. Our finish--the cappuccino crunch gelato was superb--rich, creamy and almost as satisfying as ice cream. Menu selections are not extensive with enough variety to make for a satisfying and healthful simple meal. The only complaint is that the tomato sauce is quite hot which tends to overwhelm the rich tomato flavor of the fresh ingredients.

“A welcome addition...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

While PP is a work in progress, It's off to a very auspicious start. I have eaten there three times, including the first afternoon they were open, and with each visit things are getting better. They have been open less than three months, and given what they are trying to achieve I think they are doing very well. One has to understand the differences between Neapolitan pizzas and what we are used to in the U.S. Given those differences, if you still feel your Pizza is too soft, say something and it will be fixed. At this moment, I am comfortable in ranking theirs alongside Blue Mountain or any of the other more sophisticated pizza places in Asheville. Their arugula salad also ranks with the other fine salads in town, Laura is well schooled in blending ingredients to achieve delightful palette attacks, and that salad is a great example. Finally, her sorbetto atop her lemon pound cake w/the cherry coullas is as delightful a combination of tastes as one could ask for....and we have yet to try to pistachio baklava....and in terms of price, given her ingredients and the fact that the dough and cheeses are made fresh daily, the prices are very fair. This is not your local drop in pizza spot. Good food and preparation is worth the price.

Fast and friendly service!! The salad was fresh and the pizzas hand made. So good! Similar to Antico in Atlanta.... Excellent!

“Very Good But Not Perfect”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2013

I've had four of the pizzas, two white and two red.

I think the white pizzas are better than the red pizzas, they are all good, with one notable exception: the red pizza with sopreseta had a very soggy crust. And that is precisely what this restaurant is about: the crust.

Actually, all of the crusts are, while not soggy, more pliable than they should be. They have some work to do before they are going to receive the coveted designation from the equivalent of the Italian pizza commission.
