This bakery in north Asheville reminded us a lot of the little street side food vendors or take away bakeries in France -- with good reason. Jacques, the owner and chef at this small deli, is still new enough to this country that his English language skills are still coming along, but it doesn't matter. His knowledge of how to prepare good food at a reasonable price is well honed. We had quiche -- big slices -- and coffee and went away well fed for about $13. We could have added dessert and still come out for less than $20. We took our lunch outside and ate on the upstairs porch of the strip mall where the bakery is located. It was a sunny mild day and we had a nice view of the mountains. We found Jacques to be a very personable guy, quite willing to come out of the kitchen and show us on the map where he comes from in France. It's great to have him here in Asheville, and we'll be going back to try some of his other menu items.
