My wife and I have had many regrets eating at outstanding restaurants as we usually are too full to enjoy what wonderful delights might be on the dessert menu. To further our torture we often review what we might have enjoyed, decline and pay the bill. We have shared a fantasy about eating backwards some time, just to be able to get full on something we otherwise wouldn't be able to fully enjoy. Karen Donatelli has now provided a venue where the decision has already been made: competing appetizers and entrees don't exist. There are simply not enough superlatives in the English language to describe the visual and gastronomic delights obtainable behind the doors of 57 Haywood St. The good news is Donatellis is open and in Asheville. The bad news is Donatellis is open and in Asheville and we live 7 hours away. 'Nuff said.
