While staying in Asheville for our 17 year anniversary, my wife and I, along with a very dear friend, had the pleasure of dining at Plant. We didn't have a reservation (Doh), but it only too about 20 minutes to get a table.
We enjoyed S'Nuts, smoked almonds with herbs and spices as an appetizer. My wife had the Hazelnut Crusted Seitan entree, whipped cauliflower, grilled rapini & romesco, pickled onions and shitake bacon. I had the Jerk entree, grilled tempeh, smashed sweet potatoes, sautéed collards, spicy serrano crudo, fried banana and celtic salt. All items were absolutely delectable, you could tell great attention was used in the planning of the menu and the preparation of each main dish and side dish. Regardless if you are a vegan, this place is a must. Make a reservation though, especially in the fall.
We're from Denton, Texas and coincidentally we ran into the owner/operators of Spiral Diner, Ft. Worth another great vegan restaurant we frequent.
