Description: What constitutes "New South Flavors?" For us, it is begins with reverence for those time-honored Southern dishes. Served up by wonderful home cooks for years. We respect the freshness, the flavors and the food itself. But we like to jazz it up a little, add something deliciously unexpected to delight your palate. Our interpretation of traditional Southern fare is creative, inventive and satisfyingly scrumptious. Cheers to New South Flavor!

“An Asheville Must-Have Experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 15, 2013

Everyone who has traveled to Asheville seems to recommend this place, and I think it is good to try it at least once for a good old down home type meal. For us, some things were really good, and others not so much. No one can dispute the deliciousness of their home made biscuits, though! SO yummy - best I have ever had. I thought the Roasted Nutty Chicken Breasts that my husband had we're also yummy. However, I was not as impressed with the meatloaf, and particularly not impressed with the Fried Green Tomatoes - which my mouth had really been watering for. So you win some and lose some here. Still, I think it is worth a try. By the way, we chose this newer, more modern version of the Tupelo Honey Cafe over the older original one on College Avenue downtown simply because this one takes reservations and the original does not. This makes a huge difference when it comes to wait times. The service was excellent.

“Fantastic!”

Really enjoyed a fantastic experience with some friends. Ate the fried green tomatoes, deep fried grits and enjoyed a great burger!

“GOTTA STOP.....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 5, 2013

Not only was this place great food but the decor was so charming. The Bloody Mary was wonderful with the pickled orka garnish adding a special touch. The biscuits melt in your mouth. This was the best pulled pork I ever had. Not too spicy! Great flavor. I definitely will look up this place again for some awesome southern cooking.

“You won't leave hungry!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2013

We were glad we made reservations for Sunday lunch, as it was very crowded. Nice server. You get complimentary biscuits + blueberry jam (yummmmm!)
We ordered the spring salad + fried chicken and the sweet potato pancake + fruit salad. We were stuffed! Great meals. Also had the raspberry tea which was very good.
Purchased biscuit mix and tea towels as gifts.
The restaurant is a little loud but not terrible.
Breakfast is served all day.

“Good food at good prices!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2013

Not fine dining, but a fun place to eat. Tupelo Honey Café is more of a high-volume mass-market restaurant, with a tasty creative Southern-influence menu and very reasonable prices. The downtown location said they didn't take reservations and had an hour-plus wait on the Friday night we were in town, so we went to this location at the southern edge of town, where we got in easily. They offer you a biscuit with jam (and it is huge) at the outset. We split a salad and the pecan-crusted chicken which was great, though a tad bit dry. The blueberry hill cheesecake dessert was the real winner in our meal!
