“Asheville History”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2014

A little touristy but well worth the stop. Spend an hour, have glass of wine, visit with the vendors, maybe buy something. The prices are little high but for a short and relaxing break, don't miss it. A beautiful look at the past and just how ahead of his time Grove was. Fantastic architecture. And when you're done, you can walk the neighborhood, find lots of places to duck into or just window shop and observe the rest of the strollers.

“Great architecture”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2014

Really loved the architecture. Shops/restaurants start opening around 10 a.m. Specialty type shops, independently owned. We were looking for a place to have breakfast. There was a bakery and coffee shop which looked interesting and was busy. We opted for another place that served Latin food. Breakfast or lunch. It was good.

“Nothing special”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2014

Nice architecture. A cool relief from the heat of the day. But the retail stores were nothing special.

“A Nice Break from the Heat”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2014

Asheville is a truly unique and eclectic little city. Park your car and walk a few blocks to get a good feel for all that it has to offer. We stumbled upon the Grove Arcade in exactly this way. It is architecturally pleasing to the eye but the shopping options, based on the limited amount of time that my wife spent browsing, were underwhelming at best. We spent enough time to cool down on a hot day but didn't find a whole lot in the way of interesting shops to keep us there for long. Fortunately during our visit, there were vendors lining the street just outside of the entrance that we used. In a nutshell: If you're in the city, check it out. But don't plan on this as the focal point of your visit. You'll be disappointed.

“Beautiful interior, fantastic book store and many other shops”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2014

The arcade is a wonderful gem of Art Deco style architecture, with beautiful circular stair cases and wonderful bridges on the second level. Several stores of note: The bookstore - perhaps the nicest used book store/wine bar I have ever had the pleasure to visit. If you love books, this is a place you will find remarkable. The rock shop - Very nice pieces at excellent prices. I collect minerals and know what I am talking about. The Wine Furniture shop - very nice accent pieces and furniture made from old wine barrels. They also have nice tables & other things made from various hardwood species. I found the prices excellent for the quality/craftsmanship.
