“An education for your beer palate”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2012

Such a good and interesting tour! Take the walking tour if you have a choice since you'll get to 4 places rather than 3 on the mobile one. All were in the downtown area and you got a bit of a stroll thrown in. First stop included a terrific introduction to brewing and the start of tasting some outstanding beers and ales. Next stop was a laid back bar where a cask beer was available and was clearly the winner of the tour in my book. Each stop offered up to 4 samples and each adds to your appreciation of how much variety there can be in the taste and aromas of artisinal beers. My tour was done by Adam, knowledgeable and interesting guy and recommended if you can choose him.

“Tap into the best of asheville's small & innovative breweries!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2012

Beer city is the east coast pilgrimage for beer geeks, home brewers, etc. And, brews cruise offers pairings of breweries & transportation. Plus, our guide JC wet our appetites with stories & shared some laughs along the way. So, all you have to do is focus on the beer!

This was my 2nd time around. Did highland & french broad previously. Love the kolsch from french broad! Went to pisgah & craggie on this trip. Very innovative breweries with clever flavors!

“Best Tour EVER! Thanks, JC!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2012

Our tour was on Sunday, 9/23 and started from Asheville Brewing Company. JC was our most excellent tour guide. According to JC another couple had cancelled and he was supposed to cancel the cruise because of less than 4 people but he decided to have the tour anyway and take a chance on us. WE WERE SOOO GLAD THAT HE DID! We ended up with another couple anyway who decided to go on the tour when they saw the van pull up.

JC began with getting us all in the mood for a good time and all of us got along GREAT! We first travelled to Pisgah Brewery, tried 6-8 different beers and took a very detailed tour of the brewery. The amount of information that JC threw our way was amazing. I learned more about beer and the beer making process from this tour than I have learned about wine making from 12+ winery tours. My wife and I were extremely impressed by the amount of information and the fact that it never seemed like anything other than a great time.

After Pisgah we traveled to Craggie Brewery and sampled about 5 more beers and talked at great length about their beer. Finally we ended up back at Asheville Brewing Co for food and a few more beers to taste.

The Tour was scheduled for about 2-3 hours but ours ended up taking 5 hours that still seemed to end too soon. We loved the company of everyone on the tour (shout out to Eric and Tab), the information from JC and of course the beer.

WILL DEFINITELY GO AGAIN WHEN WE RETURN TO ASHEVILLE ON VACATION...and would prefer that tour to be with JC. Thanks for an awesome time!

“Make arrangements for a Designated Driver”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2012

We met up at a small brewery (Craggie) not knowing what to expect. The tour guide was very knowledgeable about the brewerys' historys and beer. We were scheduled to hit two other rather small breweries (Pisgah, French Broad) before heading back to Craggie. The bad - It seemed to be very disorganized and haphazard. We had a lot of standing/sitting around doing nothing at the breweries while waiting for the brewer or the beer. We never even met the brewer or toured the facilities at Craggie, there was a band playing in the middle of the room. The good - My husband was thrilled with the information gleaned from the brewers. He asked a lot of questions and the guys were willing to give him advice about homebrewing. We would go on another brews cruise, but will make sure that the larger breweries are included. P.S. You have the opportunity to drink quite a bit.

“A fun experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2012

My daughter and I selected the mobile tour. Our tour guide was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable and the breweries visited were interesting. Most of all, the tasting was excellent. I recommend taking a cab to and from the tour.
