“Delightful restaurant”

Had a delicious, leisurely meal at Posana. Right on Biltmore Ave in Asheville, the staff is helpful and pleasant. Each course was delicious. Nice wine list.

“Slow Service - Good Food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2013

My husband and I visited Posana on a Saturday night around 7:30pm. The restaurant did not appear overly crowded, but our server seemed very distracted. We waited almost 10 minutes for anyone to greet our table and take our drink order. The remaining visits to our table were few and far between. Thankfully, the food made a slightly better impression. The shrimp cake appetizer was delicious. It fell apart while you ate it, but it had great flavor. My husband and I both wound up getting the burger and fries, as it is rare for us to be able to order a burger. (If you are gluten-free, you know how hard it is to find a good GF burger bun!) The burger did not disappoint. The fries, on the other hand, were extremely over-salted. The thing that saved the whole meal for us though, was this fabulous cucumber salad garnish. It was the perfect complement to the burger and we both wished there was more of it! It wasn’t one of the better meals we’ve had in Asheville, but I would be willing to give Posana another try.

“So much more than a health restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 20, 2013

Posana takes pride in offering a healthy, gluten free menu, but you would be mistaken to categorize it as simply a "health restaurant." The menu is filled with imaginative, well-conceived and presented selections that emphasize fresh local ingredients and powerful flavor combinations. Some other reviewers faulted the service but ours was impeccable so I'm not sure what happened on their visits. Anyone who thinks gluten free is weird or boring needs to try Posana's burger and fries. The burger comes on a knockout homemade roll and the fries are dusted with parmesan and drizzled with truffle oil. Terrific!

“Simply delicious. And gluten free!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 20, 2013

My family is still talking about our meal at Posana Cafe. I need to eat gluten free, so traveling can be a challenge. How lovely to find a farm-to-table, gluten free restaurant! The food was delicious, the staff was knowledgeable, and the attention to detail was remarkable. We had dinner there one night, and then I picked up the next. So yummy ... we'll definitely be back.
