“Good choice in Asheville”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 days ago NEW

While this hotel may not be as trendy as the downtown hotels, it is much more reasonably priced and a very good choice for a trip to Asheville. The wonderful staff upgraded our room and were able to give us our requested top floor/mountain view, even after we changed the dates of our visit. The free breakfast had several good choices. The location was convenient to everywhere we went in Asheville. The free WiFi worked well our first two nights, but was a little iffy our last night when the hotel appeared to be full. Our room was very quiet and we slept well.

Room Tip: Top floor/mountain view

Asheville is not a cheap visit in October. Rates are as much as double what you would expect to pay traveling to a hotel of this level. The good news is that the price you pay is worth what you had to spend relative to the market.

Location is good if you know the area and are familiar with the interstate highway system in that area. We are from out of town and getting around and finding the location require a GPS in the hands of a co driver because you have to keep your eyes on the road. Signage is pretty good and even with that you can miss the turn off rather easily.

Lobby, front desk, and staff are above average. Breakfast is "Very Average" however this has become the standard for hotels like this. You have more trash that food after you've eaten all the pre packaged meal. Eggs, Bacon, Sausage, etc. are all pre prepared and simply served up in heated trays.

Rooms are average and clean, we traveled with another couple - they got the room with a King and a Jacuzzi - without the upgrade price, because it was the only king left. You will not be spending much time in the room or at the hotel simply because there is so much to do and see in the area. Don't overpay, stay at a facility like this and you be ahead of the game with more money to spend on the crafts and food in the area.

Room Tip: Parking is a bit tight, if you get in late you will have to hunt for a parking space.

Spacious hotel overlooking a forest full of fall colors with a very friendly and helpful hotel staff. As newspapers do not have things like movie showtimes anymore, the business center provided internet access for current information. I was also able to check in on my flight for myself and wife and print boarding passes. My wife downloaded a movie using her tablet in the room and watched it later on the plane. Found some interesting German restaurants in the area too. Weather was really nice 60s during the day and 40s at night.

Staff very helpful and friendly. Room good size and clean and comfortable. Old style air con unit in wall so pretty noisy but worked well and you get used to it. Breakfast choices good and breakfast till 10 am. Fresh, self made waffles available. Coffee and cookies available all day in lobby. Long way out of town and mainly fast food and Applebees nearby have to drive good way for anything else. Good for quiet stay but not good of you want a drink or two as have to take car. No bar in hotel. Supermarket nearby. Reasonable price at a busy time. Wouldn't stay again but only because it's a long way out of town.

My wife and I decided to take a trip up to the mountains in mid Oct to enjoy the fall colors. This was a late decision and we had difficulty finding a hotel that had a vacancy. Lucky for us, we happened to find the Country Inn & Suites in Asheville. The hotel staff was very friendly and made us feel welcome. Our room was clean and well appointed. The complimentary breakfast was well managed on a busy Sat morning, with the food trays being replenished frequently and the tables cleared and cleaned right away. Next time we plan a trip to the area, we will check the Country Inn & Suits first.

The location is somewhat remote, but otherwise this hotel is great. Large rooms and bathrooms, friendly efficient staff and a good breakfast. The walls seem a little thin, you hear your neighbors. It is accessible from the freeway and a direct drive into downtown. There are not many restaraunts around, other than fast food. Highly recommend!

My son and I really enjoyed our stay. We just wanted to get away from work for a couple of days. The staff was wonderful. The breakfast was great! The lady in the breakfast room was awesome. One morning my son didn't want to get up in time for breakfast, so the kind breakfast room lady brought me "to go" boxes and I took him back some food. I made the reservation about a month before our trip and about a week before our trip I received an email from Country Inn and Suites about a discount, so I called our motel and they gladly changed our rate to the new rate! The room and bathroom was very clean. We would go back soon!
