“Very nice, if a bit oddly decorated”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2011

We wanted a weekend away in Asheville but didn't want to do the Grove Park/Biltmore Estate resort scene (which we both had done before). The Hilton seemed a good choice since the hotel is in the same class as several hotels downtown, but at a significant price saving.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The bed was perfect, the room was very clean, and had a very comfortable lounge chair and ottoman. The free wireless and wired internet connections worked great. A pullout table from under the desk expands for additional work space or for in-room dining.

On the slight downside, though the bathroom was fine, it took literally several minutes for the shower to get hot and then the control was rather persnickety. Also the room is rather oddly decorated with a loud blue and white floral pattern rug with a cheesy looking and even louder blue and green bed throw (which we tucked in a drawer so we wouldn't have to look at it). Several other decorative items clashed with each other. Believe me, I am hardly sensitive to this kind of thing - and even I noticed!

Re location, it's 15 minutes from downtown in a fairly new planned mixed use community that includes a movie theater, and such stores as Barnes & Noble and REI as well as several midscale restaurants. Obviously the substantial price saving of the hotel is a trade off from not being right downtown. The hotel is very quiet, which is not necessarily so of hotels downtown.

In terms of the restaurant, we only had the breakfast buffet, which was actually very good quality.

Bottom line, good bang for the buck for Asheville, if a bit of a commute to downtown.

Would stay here again.

Ask for a room on the side of the hotel that looks out to the mountains.

This Hilton hotel did not meet my expectations at all on two counts. First, my credit card got charged while checking out even though the entire amount of the stay was paid for while booking. We had extremely hard time getting the money credited back to the credit card. Thanks to the poor co-ordination between the staffs at the reception. We had to make several calls to get one straight answer. Second, some of the basic and complimentary items such as toothpaste etc. were not provided. That's kind of bizarre since this is unexpected in an upscale hotel.

Staff friendly. I stayed in one of the King suites. The suite was large and very spacious. Huge master bathroom (walk in shower, huge negative edge tub) not to mention the 1/2 bath in the living room area. Living room with sofa/flatscreen/2chairs/wetbar/office desk. Bedroom also has a large flatscreen hd tv and very nice new bed. The room and property were super clean and all new "stuff". The price was great! I would stay here again and recommend this property, especially diamond members.

Room Tip: Get the King Suite

What a great hotel, aloing with a superb location, staff that is most accomodating. You will have the Biltmore Village to roam, eat , go to a movie, shop in unusual stores, and rest.

Sometimes you just happen onto a hotel that makes you want to stay longer, and not leave your room at all and the Hilton Biltmore Park is one of them. Had the pleasure of spending just one night here last week and can say it is one of the nicest, cleanest hotels we have ever stayed in, and we stay in hotels an average of 7-10 nights a month. Beautiful room...wonderful bed & linens...beautiful bathrooms. We are VERY picky about cleanliness in hotels and we can say without hesitation that everything was squeaky Swiss clean. Had a room with a moutain view and although it also overlooked the interstate, the room was quiet. Very nice front desk staff on check-in. Did not have room service, or use the spa, but the spa services were very reasonably priced. Indoor lap pool was very nice but kinda of cool. The only negative thing we found on our stay was the shower pressure was a bit low, we suspect due to a low flow water saving shower head and there was just a bit too much "we are a green hotel" info about. We can appreciate environmental responsibility, but just prefer to practice green living without boasting so much about it. The little card in room just seemd a bit preachy to us. The hotel is located in the Biltmore Park shopping/dining area , so it is easy to walk around the area and get something to eat if you prefer not to eat in hotel. All in all we would certainly stay here again and look forward to that opportunity. Exceptional hotel!

the hotel was in a cute plaza. right next to restaurants and a movie theater. the parking is a bit of a hassle but we found spaces in front of the hotel along the curb. the staff was friendly and helpful. the hotel was very clean. the food at the restaurant downstairs was average and their breakfast was just ok. overall it was a great stay. they dont have wifi but there's a cable in the room. their beds are super comfortable!

One of the factors that makes a hotel great is consistency from stay to stay. I stayed at this property a year ago in August 2010. The hotel is still in great shape, very clean, quiet (I was on a lower floor this year). The staff is very helpful and friendly without being overly familiar or casual. The breakfast starts early (6:30) and is very good with made to order items on a buffet as well as menu. There is an in room coffee maker. About 5 minutes from the Asheville airport.
