“GREAT STAY! CLEAN, IMMACULATE! BED PILLOWS WAY TOO THICK”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2009

We booked into the Brookstone Lodge after reading reviews. Staff was extremely pleasant and helpful; breakfast was great, only complaint was the bed pillows are way too thick and firm! Loved the room size and beds and bathroom.

Thank you for your feedback on our hotel. We are pleased that you had a great stay and found our staff to be “pleasant and helpful”. We are sorry that the pillows were not to your liking, so please next time you stay with us, please ask for different pillows and we will accommodate that request. Thank you again for choosing Brookstone Lodge. We truly do appreciate you staying with us.

We stopped in Asheville on the way from Ky to SC coast. Although we could have stayed at other hotels in area for $20 or so cheaper, I decided to spend a little more on quality and comfort rather than value. I was very pleased with my decision. The staff was very friendly and polite The decor in room was all new, very nice marbled showers, comfotable bed and sheets, plus little sittle area, flat screen TV, and fridge. The continental breakfast had everything you need for fresh start to day; fruit, cereal, eggs, sausage, waffles, biscuits and gravy. The breakfast alone made up and difference in price factoring in how much you would pay for a decent breakfast for two or more people, and most value hotels don't have the spread you would find here

This was recommended on Trip Adviser and I'm so lucky that I was able to locate the review and follow the recommendation. Anyone who is spending a short time in Asheville and mainly sightseeing like we did can easily stay there. Very close to the Biltmore Mansion and other tourist locations. Very clean, great breakfast and excellent service. A real find!

My wife and I recently stayed 3 nights at the Brookstone Lodge during our first visit to the Asheville area. This hotel is a very good value and it is very conveniently located. If you plan to go to the Biltmore Estate this is a very good option since it's very easy to get there from the hotel while the rates at the Brookstone are much lower than other hotels nearby.

The staff were all very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The continental breakfast was better than average, featuring eggs, waffles and good sausages. There was a staff person on duty during breakfast hours making sure the food and beverage offerings remained stocked. Our room and all the other areas of the hotel were very clean.

There were a few negatives that should be pointed out. The walls tend to be kind of thin. We could hear the people in the room next to ours (adjoining room with door shut) when they were talking or watching TV. Also, in the bathroom you could hear other guest clearly through the ventilation system. That was a little strange. Also, as some others on this site have mentioned, there was sometimes an odd odor to our room. The hotel definitely smells like new construction and we couldn't tell if maybe it was just the carpeting or the cleaning supplies the hotel uses or what, but there was a definite smell to the place. It wasn't over-powering and wouldn't prevent us from staying there again, but if you are sensitive to these things you should keep this in mind. Since the hotel is very new hopefully this issue will dissipate (literally) in the near future.

Overall, it's a nice place to stay. It is a very good value compared to other hotels in the area. The breakfast is good. The location is excellent It's just 5 minutes from the entrance to the Biltmore and only about 10 minutes from the shops and restaurants of downtown Asheville. We would stay there again.
If you're looking for a place to stay in Asheville you should consider staying there.

The location is good in that is it just 15 min. from the airport but the immediate vicinity is not what I would call quait or picturesque. The Brookstone Lodge looks unique from the outside but once you are inside it is exactly the same as all the personality-less chain hotels like Amerisuties, Holiday Inn Express and so on. The breakfast was your std budget hotel breakfast included type hotel. THe exercise room was cramped and not very well equited. The room was large enough but dark. When I return to the area I will look for a hotel with a little more personality.
