“Beyond Our Expectations!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2013

After spending hours online researching B & B's in Asheville, we decided to book The Pinecrest for 4 days in the first week of September. I'm sooo gload we did. We had such a wonderful stay there. Staying at The Pinecrest was truly the highlight of our trip to Asheville. The 100+year old home is tastefully decorated, absolutely immaculate and is beautiful inside and out. Janna and Stacey, the innkeepers, are so gracious and welcoming. Their sincere hospitality is above and beyond any of our expectations. They just do everything right and they genuinely want your visit to be as enjoyable and memorable as possible. Both Janna and Stacey have such a helpful and extensive knowledge of Asheville and area and we know our visit was further enhanced by their perfect suggestions of restaurants to try, hikes to take and sights to see. That the inn is located within an easy walking distance to town (and Whole Foods!) is yet another bonus to staying here.
They are incredibly and graciously accommodating of special diet requests here and make it appear as though it's no trouble at all to offer gluten-free afternoon goodies and most especially, gluten-free blueberry waffles at breakfast, which were fabulous! Their three-course breakfasts are over-the-top delicious and beautifully presented. These two lovely ladies really make their guests feel special and we definitely plan to visit Asheville again and will look forward to booking our stay at The Pinecrest.

We recently stayed at the Pinecrest for three nights, and were able to stay in two of the rooms offered. Of the two that we stayed in, our preference was the 'Wible' over the 'Vance' room, simply because the Wible suite was much larger, and had a private entrance, but both were comfortable.

The breakfasts were excellent, you could tell that a good amount of time and effort was done in their preparation. There is also a daily desert that is prepared, and available in the afternoons. Drinks are also made available at all times. The Pinecrest's location is also a big plus, my wife and I took several walks in the neighborhood and were surprised at what was available at a comfortable walking distance, i.e. there is a good restaurant, the '9 mile', that is a five minute walk away.

Despite all of the positive aspects for what you would expect in a B&B, what I will always remember unique to the Pinecrest is the sun porch, or what was originally a sleeping porch. The Pinecrest is built on a small hill, such that the backyard drops away from the first floor of the house. What is unique here is that sitting in the sun porch is like you are sitting up in the surrounding trees. We were fortunate that the weather was pleasant enough that the screened windows of the porch were always left open. So whether you want to have a drink, eat some desert or just have some coffee, you sit there in a room with all the sights and sounds of nature surrounding you. I loved every minute of it!

I researched for a B&B in the Asheville area for over a month and decided on Pinecrest. After a weekend stay at this charming place I realized that I had made the right choice. We arrived early and was greeted by Janna who we found to be gracious and friendly. Our room was very cozy, clean and well decorated. The next morning we went down and had coffee on the sun porch with the other guest before being seated in the dining room for a beautiful and amazing breakfast. Later that evening we decided to relax on the sun porch with a glass of wine and Lemon Squares baked by Stacy. This B&B was lovely in every way and the warm hospitality shown to us by Janna and Stacy made our trip to Asheville very special. I will be returning to Pinecrest again when I am visiting the area. It was fabulous!

We loved our stay at Pinecrest B & B in Asheville. Jenna and Stacy made sure our vacation was wonderful! The home is comfortable and clean and in a great neighborhood about a mile from downtown. The breakfasts were amazing - healthy, filling and delicious. We enjoyed having a glass of wine on the sunporch in the evenings. Stacy was great with directions and ideas for activities. I would recommend this lovely B & B to anyone!

We stayed at Pinecrest for 4 nights. As soon as we arrived, Janna gave us an overview with a map included of the Asheville area. Since we had theater plans, she suggested restaurants for an early dinner. She showed us to our room--the Wible Room--which looked just like the photos. It is roomy and has a large bathroom with a tub and a walk-in shower (which we prefer) and a comfortable bed. My husband complimented me on a great room selection.
The next morning we were treated to a delicious breakfast at 9:00 am--this occurred each day and we had no need to eat lunch. Being on vacation we like having breakfast later--no need to wake up early. We enjoyed conversations with the other guests sharing experiences and suggestions about the Asheville area.
The afternoon treats were yummy.
The Pinecrest is kept very well both inside and out. It is obvious how hard this family works to please their "guests". Janna and Stacy joined in our conversation on the last morning due to all the questions and interest about the life of B&B owners.
I was about to post this review when I checked the mail--we received a "thank you" note from Stacy! (Sugary sweets did not pose a problem for Fred--sweet tooth was satisfied. :)
We hope to return to the Asheville area as there is so much to do including relaxing and looking at the mountains.
We definitely recommend this beautiful B&B and the innkeepers who run it.

Room Tip: Wible suite is very roomy (bathroom, too)

There is a reason this b and b is so highly rated! My husband and I only stayed one night in Asheville on August 15, but we intend to go back and really see the historic downtown. Pinecrest Bed and Breakfast was great! It is clean, in a quiet neighborhood, close to downtown Asheville, and a real gem. Janna is a wonderful proprietor, and her daughter makes the best blueberry waffles bar none!

Our room, the Vance, was exactly as it was pictured on the website. No surprises, which is good. Very nice bath towels, bed linens, and the room was quiet--no noise from other guests. There is off-street parking, but it's easier to park on the street. It's a residential neighborhood, and there is no problem with finding parking.

There is water, wine, tea, coffee, and home-made treats for guests. Janna recommended a great restaurant to us. It was a fabulous meal.

All around a great stay at Pinecrest, and we would definitely stay again.

Everything during our four night stay was fabulous. We loved that we could walk safely downtown and in the beautiful neighborhood. Our room and adjoining bath was clean, comfortable and spacious. We felt pampered throughout our visit with the wonderful breakfast to start the day and yummy afternoon treats. I appreciated so much that they took care of my need to be gluten free. Janna, Jim and Stacey made us feel right at home.

Room Tip: The Thomas Wolf room is very spacious and private.
