We had reservations for 7:45 after touring Biltmore. We were seated beside the kitchen, which was in the middle of the restaurant.Once they started cooking, the smoke came over and my eyes were burning. Decor was mediocre, and our server was just ok. We didn't order drinks or wine and she acted like we did something wrong. Appetizer was calamari which was very good. My husband ordered the Flat Iron steak for $37. It came with fries. No salads were offered. He wasn't given any other choices by our server. I ordered short ribs. It took 45 minutes to get our food, when it came his steak had NO seasoning of any kind, was very bland and he had plain unseasoned steak fries. For $37, I expected an excellant steak, not one I could get on a buffet!! VERY DISAPPOINTED. My short rib was good but not great. The risoto it was served on was a bit crunchy. That was all there was. 1 rib on some risoto. We will NOT be back.
