“Small but very functional”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 23, 2011

The hotel is small but very functional. Room is clean, service is good, breakfast is great. Great price for what we got. Good location to many restaurants and attractions. We'll be back.

We stayed there this past weekend for a visit to Biltmore. The hotel was recently updated and the rooms are very modern and nice. The staff was friendly and we had no problems at all. Also if you are going to visit Biltmore, go to choice hotels website and they have a great package deal. In this you get a king room, 2 tickets to biltmore(which are $100 if purchased elsewhere) a $35 gift card to Texas Roadhouse/Applebee's and a bottle of Biltmore wine and its only $220

Pros: Great room, quiet, clean, good location, nice decor, good shower, flat screen tv with a few HD channels, friendly staff

Cons: Don't rely on the continental breakfast in the morning, cramped bathroom. Far from the main nightlife in Asheville - might be an expensive cab ride.

Overall: Stay here. It is inexpensive and you will be happy you booked this place.

About my stay: I was on the interview trail, in the middle of an 11 day trip across the southeast with my fiance. She was pleasantly surprised when we walked in the room and it wasn't the usual crappy hotel room my broke butt usually books. I already mentioned I like the room, but it was nice having an applebees with super cheap drinks a short walk down the road. They had $5 pitchers and $4 long islands. After checkout we went trail running at bent creek that was conveniently located just a few minutes away.

Had a 2 night stay at this hotel. The rooms have recently been renevated. We had 2 double beds in our room which was nice on the second floor. The shower had good pressure but leaked on to the floor. Breakfast was poor not a great variety. Room rate was cheap enough.

Checked in with Vicki, really nice and hospitable. The rooms had been upgraded to the new decor for Sleep Inns, new bedding, walls had been painted to the new green color. It had been re-done very nicely.

Beds were comfortable and my night's sleep was pleasant. Shower was good, very powerful, very invigorating. Towels were really thin and scratchy, apparently, all the money was spent on paint and new bedding.

Henry, the owner, was kind and welcoming. This hotel has great potential, good value and if they upgrade their towels would be an outstanding hotel!

Wife and I stayed just one night on our way to the Smokies. It was great. Convenient to I-40. Restaurants within walking distance. Really comfortable mattresses. Clean, quiet, friendly desk clerks, and a breakfast buffet better than most standard buffets. Close to Asheville's sites, but priced below typical Asheville motels. We will certainly stay again next time we go to the Asheville area.

Room Tip: We were on first floor near the desk and breakfast room. Not a big problem, but I could hear some co...

We have been coming here for years and as Kathy B said, "It's our home away from home."

If you are coming to Asheville to look at the leaves wait until early December after they all have fallen. Then you will be sure to get a room with no difficulty.

The hotel has had new furniture, TVs, and internet installed and it did a great job of sprucing up the rooms. Mr. Henry Patel, the owner/manager, is on site everyday and he does take care of business.

The ladies who tend the front desk are great. The 'breakfast lady' takes her job seriously and is a very nice person.

Ya know, it is just so easy to create a list of negatives for a hotel you don't like. It's harder to send a list of positives when you have absolutely no complaints.

All I can say is stay here. You'll like it. And, tell Henry the guy from Apex recommended this Sleep Inn.
