“Sub-par. Stay ... somewhere else”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2011

The biggest disappointment of our stay in Asheville was this hotel. The price $198 (with tax) was comparable to other places around town but was not a good price for this room. The walls were paper-thin and the whirlpool spa advertised (an amenity we specifically sought otu) did not work properly. We registered a complaint and the manager only offered a $20 refund.... hardly a fair one considering the quality of the room and its effect on our stay.
We will not stay here again and will not recommend it.

Price was reasonable for the area . Breakfast was good and the facilities were okay. The pool was a bit on the cool side but nice & clean.

Convenient location just off the highway, and close to the Biltmore Estate, which we were in town to visit. Nice breakfast selection and staff was friendly and helpful.

The nicest Fairfield I have ever stayed. I was very pleased with the staff, as they went the extra mile to assist me in getting a reservation at my final destination. There was not, so I stayed here and was very pleased with the room also. Once at my final destination and saw the hotel that had been my original choice, I was glad that it had been booked.

Room was very nice and very clean.

We stayed two nights here and the location was perfect for our plans. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was large with a king bed. Very clean. Breakfast had variety-always nice to find yogurt. No negatives. Would definitely stay again.

I went here with friends visiting from out of the area, to see Biltmore Estate. The hotel is located just a couple miles past the Biltmore Estate exit off of I-40. It is tucked in off the main road, yet near shops and restaurants.
I made the reservations for 2 rooms and was able to get Marriott Rewards points on both rooms. One was a king and the other had 2 queens. The front desk agent put us on the top floor with views of the mountains. My room was actually a mini suite with a small living area that had a sofa, desk and entertainment center, including coffee maker and microwave. the bedroom area was separated by a cutout wall and it also had a tv. The bed was a little firm but still comfortable.
The hotel was very clean. They were in the process of replacing all the existing tv's with flatscreen HD models. ( 36")
There was a free breakfast buffet off the lobby with a huge assortment of items including waffles ( you pour and cook on a waffle machine), eggs, bacon, ham and egg muffin sandwiches, oatmeal, cold cereals and fruit, juices and hot beverages. also, free USA Today newspaper. With the tax, each room was just over 130.00 a night.
I would return to this hotel. The staff were very helpful as well.

As a regular Marriott guest I selected the Fairfield Inn Asheville South for a recent trip to visit the Biltmore Estate. The location is quite convenient and easy to get to both the Estate as well as into Asheville.

As expected at this time of year (especially on the weekend) the hotel was quite busy. Even still, the staff was quite attentive with both check-in and check-out as well as the breakfast service. Although close to the highway it was very quiet and no loud guests or kids running around the halls either. (Sometimes that's a concern when you get an inexpensive nightly rate as we did here.)

Room was clean and well apportioned - housekeeping impeccable. Also had a small business center which we used to print boarding passes.

All in all it was a good stay and a good value for the money.
