“Not bad for a budget place.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2010

If you are unlucky enough to find yourself in Gunnison (what a drab and dreary little town), this is not a bad place at all to stay. It is on the far west side of town, so you are close to Curecanti National Recreation Area and Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park, and it is much cheaper than staying in Crested Butte, but not as quaint and charming. The hotel looks newer, everything was clean and tidy, no frills but not a dump like so many budget places. The area felt low-key and secure and I didn't worry about my motorcycle or belongings parked outside the room at all. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was typical skimpy "continental" fare of toast, coffe and cereal, but enough to get you going early in the morning for some sight-seeing and exploring the high desert. Nothing really fantastic to say about the place, but nothing bad at all either. I'd stay here again without hesitation if in Gunnison.

Overall this motel was pretty good. The room and bathroom were spotless and the breakfast spread was great with a huge variety of items. The owners seem very nice. I didn't use the hot tub so I can't comment on that. The only drawbacks for us were that it was quite from the center of town, and we definitely didn't get this low rate that everyone is talking about. For what we paid, we felt it was quite overpriced.

Friendly owners, large, quiet room - never heard any noise from other rooms. Clean, with fridge. Nice location, very easy to find. Continental breakfast had a lot to choose from.

This is a family run hotel with friendly service, large, clean rooms, and an excellent buffet breakfast. There is a very good Mexican restaurant on the same property and a steak house just down the rooad. If you are looking for a good value this is the place.

Got into Gunnison and went from place to place looking for a room. Had no idea a huge bike ride starts and ends here, so no rooms available. We were referred here and were
very happy with the customer service and the room. Rates were higher due to demand, but it was worth it not to keep driving. (They also have a washer & driver for customers which is a bonus when you're traveling light)

The 5 star ratings are right -- extremely CLEAN, recently remodeled, no pretensions. Just a place to stay that leaves you with a pleasant feeling that you paid a fair room rate and received a great bargain.

Because of it's location out on the edge of town it was a nice & quiet stay. Andrew & his family were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great...no excuses for going away hungry. The hot tub was great after a cold day snowmobiling. The room was very clean and everything worked well...though the carpet could be improved on. I will definitely be back and recommend friends. It was nice to have a reasonable rate so close to Crested Butte.
