We stayed for a few days this summer as a jump off to the Everglades and to visit family while we were in the area. The hotel is in an old historic building in Homestead, FL. It is two stories without an elevator so either request a ground floor room (for handicap access) or enjoy the stairs!
Mark, the owner, was very attentive and was always available for recommendations, directions and just good old conversation. Since we were there during their slow season (mid July) it was very quiet. The hotel itself is very quaint but the bathrooms are updated and there was an updated HDTV in the room with lots of viewing options.
The room comes with a continental breakfast so unless you're used to a full, farmhouse breakfast you're able to get on your way to your activity pretty easily.
All in all I'd say this is a nice little gem in Homestead if you're not interested in a name brand hotel chain to garner more points.
