“Beautiful national park.”

Beautiful place. People who worked here were helpful and informative. Seemed to really enjoy their lives. Snorkeling was very nice as well.

“Good value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2013

This is an interesting stop on the way to/from the keys. The visitors center has a good informative exhibit and helpful volunteers. There are exhibits that kids can handle. We took the snorkel adventure excursion and saw two manatees on the way out. Its about an hour out to the reef, then an hour of snorkeling, followed by an hour back to the visitor center. A lot of time in the boat, but it was very scenic and informative. The snorkeling itself was interesting in that you get to see a real reef habitat, but we saw more in the way of fish snorkeling down in the keys. A good stop and good value that I would do again in the future.

“Exceptional Underwater Park”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2012

It's a bit out of the way but well worth the trip. To begin, I have been here 5X over the years. I always have to bring people who have never been when coming to visit me in Florida. This is a great day trip for families. And with proper parental supervision perfectly safe for kids to experience their first snorkel and view of the underwater world. Lots of colorful parrot fish, Queen Angels etc... The land portion of the park is really just a place to check in and get a ticket for the boat ride out to the reef. The staff here were nice enough, but the boat captain didn't seem to be enjoying what should be one of the best jobs in the world. If he doesn't like kids that have 100 questions because they are excited and curious - I suggest he be replaced by someone more kid friendly.

“No boats!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2012

We were dissapointed on our trip to this national park. All the literature told us about the glass bottom boats and the on board guides from the park service...however, all their boats were out of service. I would definitely call prior to making the trip to see if the boats are working. The visitor center and facilites was very nice.
