“From check-in it went downhill from there...”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2008

From check-in it went downhill from there...

Did not have a smoking room available, made the excuse that they had been fully booked the day before... Note, this reservation had been booked a week prior...

Is this a guest's problem? They are the people in the hospitality industry, not me...

Internet connectivity just isn't there... Maintainence came in several times to 'fix' it... I had to call a service center for resolution... And the problem never went away... This hotel maintains a 10 Mbps network... See above... How and why should the guest have to do their job for them?

The breakfast is not much... Have to ask for items to be replenished constantly... Staff does not keep an eye on this... Again, guests are doing staff's job for them...

Kids allowed to run up and down both floors of this hotel... This went on until 10:30/11:00 Pm in the evening... Again staff did nothing to stop this...

If staying in La Junta, Colorado for business, avoid this place... Takes forever to connect, repeated "cannot display this page" errors... No quiet times...

We stay in lots of small town motels. This one is exceptonally appealing, so clean we thought it was new.
Personal was friendly & helpful.

This Holiday Inn Express was just fine. The room was clean. The linens, shampoo, etc. were exactly the quality you'd expect from this class hotel. The staff was friendly - check-in quick and hassle-free. But I'm not sure where the other reviewer ate breakfast. It could not possibly have been here. The coffee is about the worst I've had. Cinnamon rolls taste like the plastic tray they're heated in. Frozen french toast is rubbery. Quaker instant oatmeal must have been very old - the brown sugar wouldn't even dissolve in the hot water. That's where I gave up. Don't let that keep you from staying here (not that you have much choice if you have to stay in La Junta) -- the room is just fine. But skip the breakfast.

My son and I stayed here on June 26, 2004. Check in was efficient, and the room was clean and quiet. Nice indoor pool and hot tub. The free breakfast the next morning was excellent. They could use some additional seating, as several people had to wait for a table before eating breakfast. We would stay here again if the opportunity arises.
