“This is the same as the Haagen-Daz store”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2014

See other review. It is the same place! Daniel's is the place to go! This store used to be a Baskin Robbins ice cream store. Then Daniel turned it into a cafe with many kinds of sandwiches and a salad bar, and changed to Haagen-Daz ice cream. Prices are very reasonable. There is both indoor and outdoor seating.

“Wide selection”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2014

Whether you come for sandwiches or an ice cream treat, Daniels has a wide selection. Generous helpings are also their trademark. We are locals who often choose Daniels when we want a meal out. It is quick and the food is tasty. My favorite is chicken salad on marble bread. One suggestion however, come early or just after the lunch hour to avoid the rush so you will be sure to find a place to sit.

“Great catered picnic lunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2014

Daniel's catered a picnic for 30 of us in town for a celebration of my Dad's life. Dan provided a great mix of sandwiches, huge salads, dressing, chips, and all the serving ware we needed. And the prices are very reasonable!

“Great BLT!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2013

Small and busy during lunch. Go early or late. Great sandwiches, especially the BLT. Have it with avocado. Consistently good.

“Nothing fancy, but good for sandwiches and ice cream”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 1, 2013

This informal, breezy sandwich shop in one of the main shopping areas of Los Alamos combines salads and sandwiches with a distinct local flavor on the one hand, with ice cream from the Haagen-Dazs chain on the other. The ice cream is what it is, Haagen-Dazs all the way, so no point in reviewing that here. The sandwiches are generally very good (if a bit salty) and are named after well-known Los Alamos residents; my favorite is the "Lovato," a yummy sheepherder (ham, green chile, cheese wrapped in a tortilla and grilled), but there are a number of satisfactory choices. Salads by the ounce are also available. It's open for breakfast, but I have not tried that. You can dine in or carry out; can be quite busy at lunch time, and since it's a fairly small place, if you do choose to say there, you may have to eat at one of the outside tables. For most of the year this is no hardship, as the weather in town is usually pleasant. All told, it's high quality, if rather standard, fare, and it's my favorite place for lunch in Los Alamos.
