We visited Burley Oak while the women shopped the antique stores in town. The bar has character and the beer was very good. Most of the beers i tried had quite a bit of flavor and you can tell the brewers must know what they are doing. You can sample the various beers available and then settle on a pint of what you like best. We asked about food and they do not have a kitchen yet and i don't think there are any plans in the near future to add one. You are able to have something from town delivered or bring your own in - this is more of a hassle - i'd prefer to order at the bar. They also do not have any bar munchies - pretzels, peanuts, etc. The bartender said that they put so much time and effort to create good craft beer that they didn't want to spoil the experience with crappy food. I like to munch on something when i have a couple of beers, and i think they will need to add some kind of food. I you want some good, quality craft beer on the MD eastern shore, this place is worth a stop.
