I was a guest at this hotel for five nights in March 2006. Upon check-in, as a Diamond VIP, I was assigned a huge corner room on the (top) ninth floor. It was fine in all respects except for the fact that the heating/air conditioning was not working and it quickly heated up to almost 80 degrees - much warmer than I could stand. An early morning call to the front desk compelled the arrival of a hotel maintenance worker, who studied the situation and advised that he didn't know why it was happening. He promised to call in others who would resolve the faulty HVAC unit while I was gone for the day. I also restated the problem to the front desk on the way out. When I got back in the afternoon, it was still hot in the room. I'm not sure whether any action was taken by maintenance and was never told one way or the other, but I was moved to another, more temperate, room and given a 50% credit for the preceding night.
My new 7th floor room had been recently renovated. I found that the bathroom electrical outlet was not working. Maintenance was able to fix that right away. Other observations: noise was never an issue, the carpet was new, the bed was comfortable, and there was no "new construction" smell. The bathroom was spotless. The seventh floor Towers lounge was well stocked and could handle a fair amount of people without developing a "crowded" feel. I did not eat in the hotel restaurant. In-room internet access was available for $9.95 a day. In the first room, it was wireless and the signal was not all that strong. In my second room, it was wired and worked much better.
Staff was caring and understanding. I would stay here again.
