I stayed here for a conference. The hotel was pretty good with regard to room facilities. Probably a bit nicer than the Hilton in Mission Valley, San Diego which I stayed at last year. I didn't use the gym on this trip, so can't comment on that. The best thing about this hotel is it's proximity to the shopping malls. My baggage was delayed so "unfortunately" I had to go and purchase a few essentials at the mall. The hotel has a shuttle that goes there every 20 minutes, but I walked the 15 minutes (several times in my 4 day stay), and it was quite pleasant. There is not much else nearby. A cab fare into DC cost me $40 via the scenic route, but only $25 to return. I thought that was quite reasonable. The staff were very friendly and sympathetic to my lost luggage woes. I would stay here again.

“Good room service, but cleanliness and style need work”

Hilton McLean Tysons Corner

Jun 21, 2008

I was hosting an event at the hotel so I spent the night before at the hotel. They did allow me to check-in at 8 a.m. on Monday morning and my event wasn't until Tuesday.

The room was in need of a serious remodel. I had just stayed at a Hilton in Houston and was shocked that it could even be the same chain. The bathroom had some gross short hairs on the floor that I noticed when I shut the bathroom door. I would have said something and asked to be moved, but I was sick and just wasn't in the mood to move my stuff. The bed, at least was clean...

Since I was sick and working all day on Monday, I ordered room service for lunch and dinner. I was surprised by the taste of the food and it was just as I ordered. I do think I was overcharged on both bills, but again being sick I just accepted it. I did dine in the cafe for breakfast and the food was decent, but the decor was definitely from the 80s. What an entirely poor showing for a Hilton hotel.

I would not host another event there, given the hotel experience I had. I travel a lot for work and I want a quiet clean room.

“Great Location, Lousy Hotel”

Hilton McLean Tysons Corner

Mar 27, 2008

I chose this location for a FL to NJ roadtrip which gave me a smooth Saturday drive into NJ avoiding the Easter Holiday traffic rush around D.C. Upon entry the hotel is fancy and polished which is what I expected when I booked my room. The staff was a bit unaccommodating but I shrugged it off and headed for my room. To my disappointment, the room felt old and ignored. I felt like I had entered a 20 year old bedroom with outdated and cheap furnishings, nothing like the lobby area I had entered. The carpeting was old and soiled and the bed looked used and abused. I was so uncomfortable, I left for a Marriott Residence Inn down the street where everything was new and well maintained. In addition, the room service was difficult, staff struggled to speak and understand English and it took two attempts to serve a hamburger. My Hilton experience seems to be consistent, they are not fixing up the rooms at the hotels only the common areas and other Hotels, maybe not as fancy, have much more luxurious hotel rooms than this. Lots of other choices.

“Great Value/Highly Recommend”

Hilton McLean Tysons Corner

McLean, Virginia

We stayed here on a Friday night recently and had a wonderful stay. The hotel appears to be new or recently renovated; lovely atrium area greets you when you arrive.

We had adults and several 12-year-old girls in our group. We were on the 5th floor and had two connecting rooms with 2 double beds each and a king room.

ROOMS
Rooms were tastefully decorated in beige, tan and white with dark green carpet. King room was more spacious than rooms with double beds.

BEDS
Lovely soft bedding with duvet and plenty of feather pillows. We sunk in and snuggled down and quickly fell asleep. The bed alone made our stay well worth it! Our only gripe was that 2 queen beds would have been more comfy than 2 double beds.

OTHER ROOM FURNITURE
We liked that there was an actual desk chair at the desk. It was comfortable and adjustable and made working easier. We also liked the 2 chairs or loveseat in each room which allowed us to watch TV and eat without being on the bed.

APPLIANCES
Hair dryer, iron, upscale coffee maker all included. We would have enjoyed a fridge/mini-bar and microwave in the room.

WIRELESS INTERNET
Available, but not free, which is kind of lame these days.

ROOM SERVICE
Accommodating, polite, quick, and tasty! Also expensive, but not shockingly so. We liked that they stayed open until midnight.

POOL
Great pool! Large compared to many hotels; plenty of room to swim laps or for kids to play. Lifeguard on duty who was watching our kids very carefully, but not overly strict. Plenty of lounge chairs and thick, fluffy towels strategically placed. Very clean. Motorized chair to allow handicapped person to be lowered into pool. I didn't see a hot tub. Warning: heavily chlorinated, so bring goggles. Our girls' eyes were red and stinging.

FITNESS AREA
Quite large with lots of equipment. Three large-screen TVs. Bathroom with shower.

CONVENIENCE STORE
Large, well-stocked store, similar to an airport convenience store.

FRONT DESK
Very polite and accommodating.

ATRIUM
All the rooms surround the atrium, which gives the hotel an open, airy feel. The glass elevators allow you to enjoy the view of the atrium. The negative is that sounds carries easily throughout the atrium, so we could hear the noise from the bar, but it ended around 11:00pm.

PARKING
Plenty of free parking in lot. I don't think there's valet, but it's not really necessary.

LOCAL
Two large malls, plenty of dining and I-495 within 5 minutes of hotel, but we didn't hear any road noise.

We would definitely stay here again and recommend to business travelers and families alike.
