A wonderous place of tranquiality because of the trees, water and creatures large and small. Whether you are hiking, biking or just checking out the beautiful homes. Great Falls is the place to be!

“Hike Away”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2013

This is a wonderful place to take a great hike and check out the falls! The trails takes you to various spots around the falls to give you different perspectives on the falls. Very beautiful views! We were on the Virginia side of the falls and could see across to the Maryland side of the falls. A lot of people kayak in the waters here

“Serene Refugee minutes away from traffic congestion”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 15, 2013

One would never suspect that minutes away from the traffic congestion of Tysons Corner, Virginia is a serene refugee nestled in a National Park with a waterfall that is simply majestic. I entered the park near sunset to find that both the park entrance and Visitor Center staff were gone which means there were no fees; however the park closes at sundown so there was only a short time for gazing, photo shoots, and walking. I wandered the grounds looking for what others called "the platform" a place where local photographers take their first shoot of the falls and tourist simply gaze. Some more adventurist photographers actually shoot from the rocks, which I am not sure is either safe, or advisable. I found wonderful panoramic views accessible from the platform and did not feel the need to venture further. If you are ever in the area, the Falls is a must see attraction. Several of the photos from my shoot are included in this review. Enjoy!

“Love it!”

Relaxing, sometimes crowded though--watch out for holidays; hard to find parking on busy days. Worth circling around a few times for a great day here!
