“more like a 3.5”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2014

the motel is situated off the main drag, so it's very quiet. the room is a bit tragicomic. it has a stripmall office feel to it - from the acoustic tile to the wall-to-wall carpeting combined with the typical old motel look and feel. we only had one little window providing natural light. every time you flushed the toilet, it sounded like a rocket ship taking off. we had one half of adjoining rooms, so unfortunately in any motel, it means hearing the next door folks pretty clearly. but not to be entirely negative, the room and bathroom were a good size. there was plenty of storage and surface area to spread out. the staff were all really nice and helpful.

We've stayed at this great little motel in Moab several times. It's our go to place for our trips to Moab and all the great outdoor recreation around there. It's a bargain on price, clean, modern rooms that are pet friendly. The owners are like old friends and very helpful with local info and tips where to eat, directions etc. We recommend this Inn as the best place to stay in Moab.

Room Tip: Downstairs is always easier than hauling your stuff to the second floor.

We had a group of hikers here in May, 2013. We had 6 rooms, and were very happy with them. They had refrigerators (I think one room did not).
We loved the location. Off the Main drag of Moab (which I've stayed on three times, and tends to be very noisy). This is a block away; and right next to a stream; that has a paved walking path. Nice.
I don't think you will find a better value; with a good quality/large & updated rooms, in Moab. It was clean. The staff were helpful.

Room Tip: The only rooms to avoid would be the front facing rooms (face a road). It had a pool that was on one...

We stayed here in May and were very pleased. The staff was helpful at check in. It is right downtown so you can walk to dinner locations. Nothing special about the rooms-it looked like a typical hotel room but it was clean. The pool was refreshing and clean. They have lots of great books about the area you can read in the lobby. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Moab.

The Rustic Inn's pluses are that the staff is helpful, friendly and laid back. Also, the location is perfect-just off the main street so you can walk to restaurants and shops. Moab's a cute town to spend a night or two in. We didn't use the pool since it was raining, but it looked like it could be very inviting on a hot afternoon. The only down side to the place is that the rooms are a bit drab and dingy. Having said that, they are clean and roomy. If you're looking for a quaint, well-lit motel, this isn't it. But if you're looking for a good, solid clean place to stay with a great location, it's a good value.

Stayed here during the US shut down. The man at reception was really nice and tried finding alternative places for us to visit. The location is in the middle of town and the rooms are basic but nice.

If we were lucky to visit Utah from the UK again we'd come back to Moab to see the parks and stay here again.

Stayed in 1 bedroom apt downstairs. Nice to have separate kitchen/sitting area. Full kitchen. Dark room as there were no lights to help when sitting on the sofa, could not read paper at night. Very cold room, tile floor is COLD. Wifi irregular, constantly going out and back in. You can hear water running through the pipes when neighbor or upstairs flushes, turns water on, etc. And because this is an attached unit, with a door in between, you can hear the slightest noise next door, including all conversations. I had music or white noise on full time. (Usually the heat, unit is just above your head when sitting on the sofa.) Not great wifi, sometimes pretty quick, sometimes S-L-O-W!
