“Just ok, from 1970s”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2008

We stayed at the Rodeway Inn May 23 through May 26th. We were on the second floor which was good. The bathroom was clean but seriously it was olive green and ugly. The toilet seat had the rubbed off area where the butt cheeks go. I think for $140 dollars a night they can buy a new toilet seat, but they don't make olive green seats anymore.

The internet connection was very sporadic and did not work very well. The continental breakfast was very cheap. Other than that it was fine and no problems.

We have just returned from our holiday in America which was spoilt by our misfortune to stay at the Rodeway Inn in Moab UT.
When we checked in we were given an upstairs room, as my wife has difficulty with stairs we asked for a groung floor room, we were given the same type of room on the ground floor but at an extra charge which is discrimination against disabled and elderly.
We returned to the hotel about 3PM after a day out to find the maid cleaning our room, we went to the office for a coffee for her to finish, when she finished she moved her cart along to the next room leaving our room door wide open in full view of the car park and a busy main road, luckily we saw this and I went across to our room. When I spoke to the maid she said she had forgotten to close the door, if we had not returned to the hotel when we did, our room would have been left open, and our belongings could of been stolen.
A hotel to avoid

We were booked at this motel for two nights but stayed only one because we were on the bottom floor of the two storey motel and had to listen to the walking around of the people on the floor above us. The motel was fully booked. We had requested the top floor but when we checked in at 3:00pm, we were told that there were no rooms left on the second floor. We found out why, it sounded like two elephants were walking around in the room above us. When we asked the next morning to be moved up to the second floor, we were again told that all of the rooms were already reserved for other people, so we checked out and went to another motel. It was hard to find another motel that wasn't booked. It seems that this time of the year was tourist season because the skiing areas in this area of UT had just closed. Otherwise, the room was dated but clean. The beds were typically hard. The TV was OK. The wireless internet worked very well. The location of the motel was very convenient to the downtown area with a lot of restaurants available. Pasta Jay's is a very tasty, not expensive Italian restaurant. The Mandarin Szechuan Restaurant has very tasty Chinese food and also serves saki. The also serve a good American/Chinese buffet breakfast for $5.95/person. They have a nice selection including scrambled eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy, Chinese sausage-stuffed pasta turnovers (I can't think of the proper name), green beans, toast, bagels. Don't eat at the Pancake Haus. We did one morning and regretted it. It was overpriced, the room was under heated (64 degrees on their thermostat) and the service was slow. We saw four couples depart after reading the menu and waiting to be served. We should have left too.

This is an older hotel in Moab, but it has got to be one of the best. It was immaculate and is a 100% non-smoking and you can tell that when you walk into the room. The fridge and microwave was spotless and the bathroom was so clean. The pool area was the same. The pool was open until 10 pm for kids and then midnight for adults, which is really nice if you are not traveling with kids. Since Moab does cater to an older crowd this is a great idea. However, it has a great water slide and a kiddie pool. The continental breakfast was muffins, cereal, fruit, juice and coffee and was all fresh and clean. They even provide trays so you can take breakfast back to your room because there is no area to sit and eat in the lobby. I would recommend this to anyone and would definately stay there again.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 1, 2007

The Landmark Inn is one of many on the main road through Moab, within easy walking distance of the many restaurants, shops etc. in town.

We had originally selected this motel when it was an independent property, but it had become part of the Rodeway Inn stable by the time we stayed there.

I think that this meant a slightly higher price (though still reasonable) and I suspect that the breakfast had been downgraded from the spectacular effort featured on the old website!

The room was very large, with a fridge & microwave, and double glazing kept road noise (lots of heavy trucks pass through Moab) to a minimum.

Check-in was quick and easy. Breakfast the next morning was a bit of a trial, as the milk had run out (this was around 8am, so not exactly tardy). As a consequence, we had to wait around 15-20 minutes before the counter clerk went and got some more.

The selection was relatively small, and the location of the breakfast bar in the small reception area meant that you had to take it back to your room to eat it. Not a huge problem, as trays are provided, but in poor weather, carting it across the car park and up stairs might not be so easy.

Overall, though, pretty good value for money.

Room was at the end of the building which we liked, seemed more private and quiet. Room was clean, good size, had a frig and microwave. Shower worked well, hot water on right away. TV worked well. Basic cont. breakfast, cereal, mini muffins, apples, oranges, milk and orange juice, did just fine for a morning meal.
Pool and jacuzzi were heated and very nice. This hotel will probably have more kids because the pool has a really nice water slide. Staff was friendly, but not overly helpful. Location was a few miles from the entrance to Arches Nat'l Park. Eat at Buck's, good food. May be pricey to some, but if your going to splurge Buck's is a good choice.
Eddie McStiffs food was okay, our service was a little slow.

We stayed here overnight as a stop on a long road trip. The first thing you notice is the waterslide, and it was great fun for us. The hot tub was very nice as well. The room was clean and appealing, with what looked like original artwork painted on the wall. The beds were comfortable, and the high speed internet worked fine.

However, the tub drain did not close all the way unless you put pressure on it, and we were playing "dueling showers" with other rooms, as the water would abruptly change from hot to cold, though we hadn't turned on the faucet or flushed the toilet. The pillows were very flimsy and small.

The continental breakfast had mini muffins, chocolate or cinnamon it looked like, cereal, coffee, juice, apples & oranges. Definitely not amazing, but pretty decent.
