“Great Location, But Can Be Noisy”

After reading the reviews and being unable to stay in the sister property across the street, I booked 3 nights at the Greenwell Inn.

The 2nd floor room we had was indeed recently renovated. As others have noted, the rooms are dark and could use more interior lighting. The shower head was about 5'8' high... too low IMHO.

I can also see where a lower room might be noisy due to the construction of the building. The pool is nice and is actually larger than the pool at Canyonlands and does not look out on the street.

The staff is clueless, but pleasant.

I would stay here again if I could get a 2nd floor room.

I have stayed in the one suite available in this motel for the past four years. Each year they have made improvements to a very old motel. This year was the best yet. You get a large bathroom, a seperate bedroom with a very comfortable King size bed, and a living room with a large flatplate HDTV with good cable selection, refrig, and microwave. The room was kept clean and the few maintenance problems were fixed within the day. My only complaint was that there was no guest book provided, even after being requested. Therefore, you don't know the TV channels, if a fitness center exists or where it is located, etc.,you get my drift. We come to Moab to day hike, which makes the Greenwell perfect. Parking next to the room, a suite large enough to sort out our hiking gear, and a location that is within a block of three good restaurants, the Moab Diner (best breakfast a guy can ask for), Zax, and the Fiesta Mexicana. The Greenwell is not the Ritz, but fits the bill for hikers, four wheelers, mountain bikers, and others.

Having never been to Moab, I wanted a room very centrally located. This hotel did not disappoint as it's squarely in the middle of the town. Walking distance to everything, gas station and drug store nearby for water, food, etc. Nice pool area with jacuzzi. Plenty of ice and soda machines (Coke machine only $1.00 for a 16oz bottle...haven't seen that price at a hotel/motel in a while)

Room was recently renovated with flat screen t.v. and newer furnishings. Only complaint was a relatively noisy, older a/c unit which could at times wake up my wife and me when the compressor recycled on/off.

“Great, Great, Great - Will Always Stay Here Now!”

The rooms have been recently re-done and are pretty nice for a chain hotel at their price point. They don't have breakfast but you are in the heart of everything and can walk to over a dozen restaraunts - even in the sweltering heat of a Moab summer. The pool is nice, the management very responsive, and having the little fridge in the room is great. All in all one of the top places to stay in Moab - and probably the best for the price.

We stayed here at the last minute after problems with another hotel in Moab. Desk staff was friendly & helpful. Room was very nice--fridge, flatscreen TV, roomy bathroom area & closet. Appeared to have been recently renovated--nice furnishings, faux granite counters, etc. We stayed in the back building and it was very quiet. We were very satisfied with our stay and would definitely stay there again. The only criticism I would offer is that the pool area seemed a bit neglected--no towels, bathroom was lacking in supplies, etc.
